If I could give the staff and service 10 stars out of 5, I absolutely would.

Cordis Hotel in Mongkok delivered one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had — and I travel extensively. Normally, my wife and I stay in the more tourist-centric areas of Hong Kong, so when she booked us into Mongkok, I was unsure. But what a pleasant surprise this turned out to be — in fact, I’d call it one of the highlights of our recent travels.

Exceptional Service That Defines the Stay

The most memorable part of our stay was the incredible service, especially in the Club Lounge. Lily, who checked us in and took care of us throughout, went so far above and beyond it felt like we had a personal concierge. She helped me make several calls regarding golf equipment and made it feel effortless. She is the very definition of a 10-star employee.

Edwin was equally warm and engaging, and the ground floor staff arranging taxis and helping guests at all hours were attentive and genuine. We even had two guests join us from Mainland China during our stay — and the staff welcomed them with the same gracious hospitality they showed us. It made a big impression and showed that this hotel truly understands global guest care.

The Club Lounge: Our Favorite Spot

The Club Lounge was the heartbeat of our stay. Not only was the service impeccable, but the panoramic views of Hong Kong from the lounge were stunning — especially at sunset. We found ourselves lingering there far more than expected, which is rare for us. It felt like a sanctuary in the sky.

Rooms, Details, and Thoughtful Touches

We stayed on one of the Club Floors, and waking up each morning to sweeping views of the city was a joy. Housekeeping was meticulous, even placing free ice cream in the freezer — a fun little touch we won’t forget. The bed was very comfortable, and the pillow library was a welcome feature that allowed us to customize our sleep.

Fitness With a View + Rooftop Pool

I’ve worked out in countless hotel gyms — and I can confidently say the gym at Cordis is one of the best in the world. It’s not just well-equipped — it offers an unrivaled 180° view of the Hong Kong skyline. Working out with that kind of view felt more like a privilege than a routine.

The rooftop pool was another unexpected treat. Clean, relaxing, and again, elevated by the view. Whether you’re swimming laps or just taking it all in, it adds another dimension to your stay.

Connected Convenience + Artistic Atmosphere

Cordis is integrated directly into Langham Place Mall, which means you’re steps away from floor after floor of restaurants and high-quality shopping. Between the hotel and the mall, we had everything we needed — and only ventured out for short food excursions in the surrounding neighborhood, which is also full of great local eats.

Art is also a key part of the Cordis experience — from the elegant lobby to the photo-worthy statues throughout the hotel, it feels curated, stylish, and very contemporary.

Regrets? Only That We Didn’t Have More Time

If we had more time, we definitely would have tried the spa and some of the in-house restaurants, which looked absolutely top-tier. That’s our only regret — but a good excuse to return.

Final Thoughts

Cordis Hotel Mongkok is not just another luxury hotel — it’s a place where service, comfort, and thoughtful design come together seamlessly. From the staff and the Club Lounge to the gym and rooftop pool, every aspect felt elevated. This is not a hotel you just sleep in — it’s one you experience.

Highly recommended. Fairly priced. Expertly managed. We’ll...

Felt very cared for! A concierge can truly make or break a stay and Mark at reception will do his absolute best to accommodate your needs.

We arrived at 8/9am after a 14 hour flight and our room wasn't ready for us (we'd tried to email prior regarding this but was met with a generic email saying that they'd see what they can do on the day). We were tired and groggy but got ourselves some breakfast, did some exploring and promptly got a 10.30am call to tell us our room was ready - which was much faster than what we expected! I am still grateful for this, thank you Mark!

I also ended up falling a little unwell on our trip. Had a migraine and as a result was struggling to keep food down. We asked reception for a toaster and they sent one up to our room and arranged for us to keep it for the rest of our trip. This was honestly a godsend. As the morning before we were forced to order to bread basket breakfast, which was $78 for 2 bits of bread from a packet, 3 tiny croissants and 1 tiny freshly baked bagel, it felt quite steep, if the bread was fresh and/or a bit more plentiful, the price would be a little more justified, especially with all the bakeries at the bottom of Langham Mall - a partnership with them of daily fresh bread would make a huge difference! Further improvement could have been locally sourced jams/honey. However with the toaster I was able to settle my tummy without costing us an arm and a leg for some bread, so I am very grateful regardless!

They also sent us up cutlery for when my insomnia hit and munchies kicked in for some nong shim noodles at 4am. Also gave good advice on where to buy a swimming costume and the pool is such a peaceful spot. The open air roof was very relaxing and made for a really nice end to our days :).

Downsides are, that the TV hub in our room didn't work (room no 2792) - I had to plug my laptop directly into the hdmi slot behind the TV instead of the hub they have, we clearly weren't the first to do this too, but its such a minor thing. Our room had some weird fairy lights over the view on our window.. The hooks for it were glued above the window so we were unsure as to whether this was purposeful or left from the last people. We had to awkwardly move them to the side versus take them down, as if it is a choice, it's a little awkward to mention, but it did impede the view a little and looked a bit tacky.. As shown in the second pic - I hope it's not a choice, but again it's so minor. The bed was large but follows the general hotel practise of being 2 beds stuck together. This is always a gamble with hotels and when having a bigger bed, but its one of the small touches that can make a big difference. Besides this, the room was comfortable, clean and the view, was, in my opinion, priceless.

Overall we had a lovely stay here and whenever we visit HK this will be our go to! Being connected to the mall and MTR has further improved the experience - thank you for having us ! We'll...

(see rating descriptions at the bottom)

I had an enjoyable stay at the Cordis with the Stay Safe and Save Package (nightly room rate $450).

The room was high quality, very comfortable and clean. Room service was quick to arrive with the additional pillows we requested from a variety of pillow options.

The location is good as it is connected to a shopping mall, with an MTR, so we could easily travel to nearby bars, and also nearby Kowloon Park.

The staff were very helpful and the food was good. I have no complaints there (although there were issues with drinks options at The Garage which I addressed in a separate review).

An issue regarding the facilities is that the pool and sauna were closed, so we were unable to experience them. However, the Fitness Centre had a good number of facilities and equipment.

However, I was dissatisfied with the efforts by the hotel to be environmentally sustainable and have a few recommendations.

Firstly, they should place permanent shower gel, shampoo and conditioner holders in the rooms. Currently they have very small bottles which are extremely wasteful! Also, for the ‘necessities’, they could package them in more environmentally friendly materials (rather than plastic).

Secondly, they should consider having the air conditioning turn OFF when the key card is removed (when the guest leaves the hotel room) or at least raise the air conditioner temperatures to 25oC or higher to reduce power consumption (or 25oC if they wish to maintain a cool temperature). Guests will often forget to manually turn off the AC by themselves (and in fact the room was freezing cold at 19oC when I checked in) so a HUGE amount of energy is wasted.

Unless the hotel has solar panels on the roof which means they rely on renewable energy, their carbon footprint is much larger than it should be and they are contributing to the problem of climate change (like so many companies and hotels are— but it’s important that each hotel takes the initiative and makes a difference by choosing a different choice).

Therefore, I hope you will take my advice into...

Therefore, I hope you will take my advice into consideration.
