The only reason for one stars is the lack of information on the major adjacent construction work and the hotel & Bpoking agents refusal that they are under any obligation to tell you about this construction work beforehand as its 'off site'. ||Major machinery is being employed on immediatley adjacent site involving pile driving and excavations, meaning the hotel and room shake! This is 10+ hours a day between 8am & 6.30pm. ||I agree it is out of the hotels control, however I consider they and the booking agents should have some obligation in telling you about i before you book - they disagree.||Without this construction work I would have given the property a 2* review due to small room size, warn bedding & towels and ok room cleaning. It's not particularly good value for money compared to other hotels I have stayed in, in Hong Kong & Macau. Add the construction noise issue to the mix and it's a bit of a rip off.||On the plus side, the location is very good in the heart of Kowloon for that 'local experience', with plenty of street food, restaurants bars and shops on your doorstep and staff...

To be very fair and honest, the location of the hotel isn’t the best. It is located in a quiet and secluded part of Mongkok, away from the bustle so sometimes, you might feel abit unsafe to be walking back late at night.

The room size is acceptable for Hong Kong standards but the toilet is very small and cramped. The swing of the bathroom door leaves no allowance for you to stand in the bathroom.

But I must say, the guests staying on our floors all close their room doors loudly and all with a bang, we were awaken numerous times with the banging of doors early in the morning, and could not fall back asleep.

The bed is slightly on the hard side but the size is okay for couples, not too small.

The room key was also not working which is an inconvenience for everyone because that would mean that everytime we need to open the room door, we will need to seek assistance at the front desk.

Fortunate thing is that the service of the front desk staff is good. They are friendly and very willing to help whenever they can. They try their best. They speak good mandarin and...

The ceiling was very moldy and the room smelled unpleasant. The room itself was not soundproof at all. Overall it simply wasn’t clean. The duvet smelled really musty which doesn’t surprise me if the room is basically left to mold. The bed was rock hard and I had terrible back pain. One point although it’s not the hotel’s fault, I still want to mention it: some guests have absolutely no consideration for others. They start slamming doors or shouting in their rooms at night. My personal highlight was someone smoking in their room. Because of the air conditioning the smell lingered in my room for two days. Definitely not great. Smoke combined with mold...yeah...🙃

The only good thing I found was the location. It was not too far from the action, bus/train stations, and shops but also not right in the middle of it, which I enjoyed. I never felt unsafe, even walking back to the hotel at night. The staff...

5 min walk from Mongkok MTR Station. Basic accommodation area, room safe lock function well, heater and water pressure are good. 2 bottles of water provided each day during room cleaning. Towel change upon request or place in the basin, same goes for the bed sheet. The counter staff was friendly and help us as much in whatever possible ways they could. Basic English communication was alright Mandarin was good too, if you can listen to cantonese it will best. It's surrounded by many Hardware store(五金店) you can even spot worker(师父) doing manual motor coil winding, very impressive. For photography that like to shoot local living and work life I think is a good place. There are many good food to hunt in Mongkok area too. Overall I think it is a good place to stay as you spent your time in HongKong.

Pop Inn Mong Kong is a very good value small budget hotel not far from the action of Hong Kong. Ten minute casual walk to Mong Kok MTR station (via Langham Place) and Airport bus A21. We arrived there straight from the airport at 10 am and the staff allowed us to check in our reserved room right away, giving us time to make time for lost sleep. The room was small but decent: large bed, cool air conditioning, wi-fi, hair dryer, small refrigerator but no water bottles provided, clean bathroom but only two towels. The room was cleaned and tidied every day with fresh towels. The hotel is in the middle of old hardware stores, fruit street market along Canton street, and convenience shops nearby. Recommnded for budget travelers!
