SOGO is a major shopping mall in Causeway Bay. You can literally find everything your home will ever need from furniture to electricals, to crockery and clothing etc. Prices can range from the ultra expensive to the ultra bargains, and almost any event is an excuse to be on sale. The only thing that can be annoying is the endless other people who are also on the lookout for bargains. There are always just too many people looking for that incredible bargain. One thing that is missing from this review is of course the food section which is located in the basement - 2 levels below ground. This is definitely an awe inspiring place to shop for food, or some sort of an exotic liquid, or even pills; everything you can think of, which is rare or exotic, that has enormous perceived value and has to be eaten or drunk is all here! You must take it all in slowly and intentionally ENJOY, because this section involves most of your five senses, so be prepared to sit down and refresh yourselves several times if needed at the nearby coffee shops, have a relaxing tour, even have some lunch, and then come back again for a second or even third viewing and tasting. The cakes and bakery are also inspirational, but you can only buy a limited quantity at a time no matter how well off you maybe, the appearance and taste are of course bound to have you return another day. Just the bakery called DONQ , I believe situated at the corner, with the most customer queing at virtually any time of the day, got me returning several times a week! Can you believe some people will queue for half an hour just to buy their plainest white loaf. Fights might even break out if someone accuses the other for not queing!

Amazing supermarket with lots of prepared foods and made to order foods. The chili burger at the japanese burger place is super tasty and flavourful. The tonkatsu sando at the sandwich place is average. The pork cutlet is a bit dry and the bread isn't toasted enough and could use some butter. The takoyaki is good and the taiyaki slightly disappointing at the stall that sells both. The onigiri at the onigiri shop is also nothing noteworthy. The beef is flavourful but there is so little egg that you can't taste it at all. The waffles at the pop up waffle stall near the cashier isn't anything special. The warabimochi at that pop up stall is the best thing there imo. Get the assorted box that comes with three flavours (matcha, soybean and black sugar).

Attempted to go to Sogo today to browse for a new TV and buy a lunchbox for my son. We were prevented from accessing the floors that that these two items are located on as Sogo have introduced the "Sogo Club". This means you are only able to access certain floors if you are a Sogo Club member which entails handing over your name and contact details. Too bad if you want to buy a Gift Voucher for Sogo as you can't without being a Sogo Club member as that is on a Sogo Club floor. So Sogo won't let you buy a TV without first demanding your details to no doubt send you marketing materials / emails constantly. The most utterly ridiculous marketing decision I have come across in a long time!

SOGO is a large Japanese department store and part of the shopping mecca in Causeway Bay. Opening hours are 10am to 10pm daily. What you will find here are 18 floors of traditional department store shopping with mid to luxury brand name retailers as well as houseware, appliances, books, clothing and the likes. Product range is no less than shopping at nearby mid-range malls like Times Square and Hysan Place but less cafe and eatery options. Instead, the B2 floor is a large supermarket, casual take-away food outlets and dessert counters. Access is directly from the Causeway Bay MTR Station (D1 and D2) or from their street level entrances along Hennessy Road or Lockhart Road.

One of my favourite department stores in Hong Kong. In fact it may be the largest?! Multi-levels with 2 connecting buildings provide all kinds of shopping experience. Really shop till you drop 😂 and it’s always crowded. Things are not always the cheapest but they always have promotions with discounts. Download their app to apply as a member to accumulate points for prizes (not sure). I particularly love their basement food store with varieties of local, Japanese, Taiwanese and overseas food delicacies. A great place to buy nice produce especially if you are hunger for a foreign product.
