The most convenient way is via the MTR (Hong Kong's subway system).

With over a dozen floors SOGO Hong Kong is a sprawling and iconic department store that offers a quintessential Hong Kong shopping experience. It is a retail giant known for its vast selection, housing everything from coveted international luxury brands and high-end cosmetics to trendy fashion, electronics, homeware, and a superb basement food hall.

The store is particularly famous for its massive annual anniversary sales, which draw huge crowds.
In terms of pricing, SOGO caters to a wide spectrum. While its ground-floor luxury boutiques and cosmetics halls are decidedly high-end, upper floors offer more accessible, mid-range brands. Rating: ★★★★☆ (4 out of 5 stars)
SOGO Causeway Bay is a true Hong Kong institution – a classic department store that’s stood the test of time. Located in the heart of Causeway Bay (East Point Centre), it remains incredibly convenient to access.
As parents with a baby, we found SOGO surprisingly accommodating. Key positives for families:
Essential Baby Facilities: They provide baby rooms for diaper changing! While the space can get quite narrow (especially fitting 3-4 strollers during busy times), we genuinely appreciate this facility being available in an older building. Easy Navigation: The lifts and escalators make getting between floors straightforward, even with a stroller. Direct MTR Access: A HUGE plus! The MTR lift exit connects directly behind SOGO, making access seamless, especially with a pram.
Beyond family needs, SOGO offers:
Diverse Shopping: You can find almost anything across its floors – from daily necessities to high-end brands (including some pleasantly surprising finds like the French clothing brand Kenzo). Popular Cosmetics Hub: The ground floor cosmetics section is a major draw for locals and tourists alike. Consistent Service: Staff were helpful and provided good service, often seen interacting warmly and chatting with customers.
Overall: SOGO Causeway Bay delivers a solid, reliable shopping experience. It might not be the most modern building, but it makes up for it with its vast selection, central location, practical family amenities (like the baby room), and incredibly convenient direct MTR access. We had a positive experience shopping here and found it met our needs well. Great for families and anyone seeking a comprehensive department store in the heart of...
Read moreSOGO is a major shopping mall in Causeway Bay. You can literally find everything your home will ever need from furniture to electricals, to crockery and clothing etc. Prices can range from the ultra expensive to the ultra bargains, and almost any event is an excuse to be on sale. The only thing that can be annoying is the endless other people who are also on the lookout for bargains. There are always just too many people looking for that incredible bargain.
One thing that is missing from this review is of course the food section which is located in the basement - 2 levels below ground. This is definitely an awe inspiring place to shop for food, or some sort of an exotic liquid, or even pills; everything you can think of, which is rare or exotic, that has enormous perceived value and has to be eaten or drunk is all here! You must take it all in slowly and intentionally ENJOY, because this section involves most of your five senses, so be prepared to sit down and refresh yourselves several times if needed at the nearby coffee shops, have a relaxing tour, even have some lunch, and then come back again for a second or even third viewing and tasting.
The cakes and bakery are also inspirational, but you can only buy a limited quantity at a time no matter how well off you maybe, the appearance and taste are of course bound to have you return another day. Just the bakery called DONQ , I believe situated at the corner, with the most customer queing at virtually any time of the day, got me returning several times a week! Can you believe some people will queue for half an hour just to buy their plainest white loaf. Fights might even break out if someone accuses the other...
