I spent three nights here as a solo traveller. Night one I thought I had found a gem of a hotel , very reasonable in price , good location , clean room etc.||Lapad region is beautiful, nice walks around the peninsula, cocktails at cave bar more were lovely to watch people swim and enjoy the sunset. ||The second night there was a group of school children in the hotel and they were ridiculously noisy , running up and down screaming , knocking on rooms every 2 minutes . At 12.30am I went down to reception to see what could be done! I waited 5 minutes looking for a receptionist but no one there.....at this point I noticed everyone's passports behind the desk in pigeon holes ....easily available for anyone to take with no one around! ||I gave up and went back up, asked the children myself to be quieter!||The next day I asked for my passport as I didnt want it stored there! ||I checked out after night 3.. then on the way to the airport I realised I didnt have my English purse that I had put in the drawer on day 1 as I didnt need it (no safe in room!) ||I had checked the drawers before i left but hadn't remembered my purse was in there so when the drawers were empty I didnt think. ||I immediately phoned the hotel and asked them to check the room and drawers as i had put it in there as soon as i arrived and not taken it out the room the whole time as i had a separate purse for my kuna. They asked to phone back in 5 mins while they check . I phoned back and they had found nothing . I phoned several more times and still found nothing even though I insisted this purse had not been taken out of the room by me. After about 5-6 calls they said the manager would call me about the situation as this purse had been stolen out the room . They insisted it wouldn't be the maids . I had told them about maids leaving all the rooms open on the floor while cleaning , even though when I tried to find the maid to tell her I was leaving now, they were nowhere to be seen!! I could have gone in any of the rooms!! I'm still waiting for that phone call off the manager!! THE SECURITY HERE IS APPALLING!! it was a kate spade purse , with about £150 gbp and all my cards etc in . They are not interested. The purse could have gone at any point during my stay as I didnt need it and had put it away. ||||It's such a shame as this was an amazing city break , and lapad and dubrovnik are...
Read moreGreat place to stay, I read alot of reviews before booking here, the negative ones I read were mainly about how old the decor was and how the restaurant wasnt on site, but that they had to walk a bit to get to..... This is a 2 star hotel, what do you really expect? The service was brilliant, they were friendly and helpful. The room which had a balcony and sea view was old yes, but it did the job, let's face it... You don't go on a holiday to stay in your room, aslong as it is comfortable, which it was, then it's decent. There was a bus stop right outside the steps of the hotel, which takes you right outside the city walls in 15 mins or less. The beach although pebbly, was beautiful, I'm not a beach person, but it definitely ticked all the right boxes. The restaurant for breakfast and for dinner were often different, the breakfast one was literally a 2 minute walk out of the hotel, across the road, good selection of hot continental foods. The dinner one changed frequently, but they were never more than a 3 minute walk from the hotel, again great service and friendly helpful staff. My only negative about my stay was the air con, it wasn't as strong as I had hoped. Anyways it was a pleasant stay. Also its not called sunset Beach...
Read moreGreat location at Lapad Bay, right across the road from the water. Our group had two triple rooms on second floor and a twin room on third floor which also had a balcony. Be aware, there is no lift in this hotel. The hotel is great value for money and a great choice for a budget stay in otherwise very expensive Dubrovnik. We found all of our rooms to be very clean, good linen & comfortable beds & pillows. Staff were very helpful & friendly. Our stay included buffet breakfast (7-10am) which is served in a restaurant across the road on the water side. Not a huge range of breakfast options available, but definately enough choice to still have a hardy breakfast each morning. If you have early departure, there is an option to go for breakfast earlier. Under the Hotel Adriatic (at street level) is a kiosk with small range of supplies and a tour company. The tour place has a good range of tours of Dubrovnik, his prices were comparable to others. The hotel is ideally situated on the bus route, number 4 bus takes you to Pile Gate in Old Town. You can purchase bus tickets from the kiosk under the Hotel for 12kuna or from the tour place or on the...
