Absolutely loved the experience at the Tbilisi Funicular Lower Station — it’s a must-do if you’re in the city! Everything from the location to the ride itself was smooth and enjoyable. The station is clean, organized, and super easy to find. Even if there’s a small queue, it moves pretty fast and the staff are professional and efficient.
The funicular ride up the mountain gives you some seriously stunning views of Tbilisi — it’s like watching the city unfold beneath you in real-time. It’s one of the best ways to get a full view of the skyline, especially if you’re into photography or just want that cinematic moment. The ride is short but scenic, and you land right near Mtatsminda Park, which is another fun spot to explore.
Pro tip: try to go up just before sunset so you get to see the golden hour light on the city and then watch it transform into a sea of lights as it gets dark. Trust me, it's worth it.
Whether you're a tourist or a local showing friends around, this spot delivers every time. Five stars...
Read moreThe Tbilisi Funicular is one of the most amazing tourist attractions in Georgia that I can highly recommend for a visit.
The funicular starts its journey from the picturesque district of Tbilisi known as Mtatsminda and climbs to a height of over 700 meters above sea level. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the city and surrounding nature from observation platforms.
But the most incredible part of the journey on the funicular is the mountaintop itself. Here, you will find numerous restaurants, bars, cafes, and souvenir shops, as well as an observation deck with an incredible view of Tbilisi and the surrounding area.
In addition, the famous Tbilisi amusement park is located at the top of the mountain, where you can test your courage and enjoy exciting entertainment.
Overall, the Tbilisi Funicular is a wonderful place for relaxation and entertainment in Tbilisi. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Georgia to enjoy the beautiful views and unique atmosphere of this...
Read moreOne way per pax elder than 6 years is 10 lari, plus 2 lari for a card that you will also need for the park rides. Even if you dont want to ride anything and just walk around still need the card as the gate system works only with this card. Automation is always good, just making extra cost to service user isnt good imho. Funicular departs every 20 minutes, so be prepared to wait inside the funicular for the departure. Line management is awful, lack of passenger number control, right at the gate to ride the funicular a big crowd of people prepares to run and take the best spots or seating spots, inside of funicular is very stuffy and no air. Tip. No need to buy round trip tkts as the taxi ride back to city will cost you less, just use local taxi aggregator apps like Bolt or similar. Btw car ride downhill is a bonus extreme ride, the serpantine road during night offers extra thrill and nice views...
