We checked jn to the room after a very modest day in the city. We were tired after a long day, we go to the room and we find out that the toilet door does not lock, on top of that we had to put cover on the blankets by ourselves, there were 2 water bottles but we were 3 when we asked for 1 more the gentlemen replied you have to pay. This continued for 3 nights we stayed there, having to ask for the bottle of water and still not getting it.
The people at the reception felt emotionless and hospitality was out of the question.
When we asked for wine glass, the response was there is no one come and take. Similar response when I asked for fork and spoon, when I went down, the response was I am the only one person wait.
Breakfast was a disaster, but considering the service we were receiving I have to say it was okay. One day the same sausages were labeled beef and chicken the following day the name tags had changed places, not only for the sausages but for all the items. Coffee was horrible.
When I wanted to use the swimming pool, it was in another building which is okay. But when I asked for the towel i got a reply, you will get it at the hotel with the swimming pool.
go there and a gentleman literally hides behind the desk after seeing us (not kidding). When I for the towel, the gentleman is visibly confused and start pacing up and down trying to look for someone, finally another person comes and tells me “go room take towel” I mentioned I am not in this building but the other one to which the response is “go other building bring towel from your hotel, here no give towel”
Reluctantly I walk 10 minutes to go to the other building and tell the guy i did not get towels can you help me and the response was they will give go.
Ive had enough at this point and told the gentleman to give me towels, after waiting for 15 minutes he comes with tiny hand towels. I accept it and go to the pool. Only after I had finish swimming and was wiping my face that I realize it was a foot mat.
This review honestly feels like me just venting out. But please do not go...

We recently stayed at this Astoria, Tblisi 4-star hotel and had a very unpleasant experience. We had booked three triple rooms in one block almost 15 days before arrival, but when we got there, they said the rooms were in different buildings. After arguing for more than an hour, they finally gave us rooms together. This kind of mismanagement is unacceptable for a 4-star property. If you don’t speak Georgian, please avoid this place. The staff barely understands English, and communication is almost impossible. On top of that, we felt clear bias toward Indian guests, which was extremely disappointing. When you’re running an international hotel, your team should at least be able to communicate in basic English and treat all guests equally. The staff’s behavior towards Indians is shocking. One of them even behaved rudely with my 5-year-old daughter — completely unacceptable. The washrooms had a strong foul smell, and there was no air freshener provided. The carpets looked old and unclean, as if they hadn’t been vacuumed for years. Room service doesn’t provide basics like toothbrushes, toothpaste, or proper slippers — you have to go to reception and ask for them. Hospitality was zero. The breakfast spread only caters to local tastes, with no Indian or international dishes at all. The staff in the restaurant were rude and dismissive, which made the experience even worse. Considering that many guests were Indian, the hotel could easily add a few Indian options or at least be polite to their guests. The blankets and bed covers were not clean — it honestly looked like they hadn’t been changed after the previous guests. Thankfully, I carried my own bedsheet and blanket. Overall, our stay was extremely disappointing. Poor communication, lack of cleanliness, rude staff, and biased behavior made this hotel one of the worst experiences we’ve had. If you’re reading this, please don’t book this hotel. And if you already have, cancel your booking even if you lose some money — you’ll...
Read moreI have stayed in this hotel several times. In both buildings. ||Although they are almost similar, I can say that I prefer block 2 (the more classical one closer to funicular).||I stayed in that building twice and both times I had a large room. The lobby is very pleasant to look at. The reception staff are very polite and friendly and they can arrange a taxi for you for less money that if you stop a taxi yourself on the street. Breakfast starts at 08.00 but we came earlier because we had to leave at 08.00 and we were allowed to come earlier.||||The other building is also fine. The rooms there have large balconies which is definitely a big plus. But I had a very unfortunate experience there with very noisy and arrogant guests who checked in at night and started making a lot of noise in the corridor at night, talking there at a very high level, their children were running at night (at 2 o'clock). It lasted for such a long time that even had to leave my room and ask them to keep quite. I saw a bunch of Indian-looking people standing in the corridor with the doors of the rooms open talking at a very high volume. Their children were just running around. They did not cease talking even after other guests came out of their rooms and 2 men from the reception came to quiet them. ||Their argument was, " We paid money to be here", as if other guests were staying there for free. ||Because of this awful experience and sleepless night, I was happy to leave the hotel (block1) although I understand that it can happen anywhere.||I wonder if hotels have the right to refuse the service to clients with destructive behavior just like...
