I brought my own chilis from India and Thailand as the food is not spicy enough for me in all countries in the Caucasus region. Still, even with my chilis, both the red curry with beef and the green curry with chicken, were not spicy enough. I really wish the Spanish reviewer Ms. Esayan indicated what she ordered that was too spicy for her as I would have ordered the same. On the plus side, the green chili came with plenty of chicken and the chicken was of good quality; on the negative side, the curries were watery and lacked kaffir lime leaves and other ingredients like lemongrass, bamboo shoots and Thai basil leaves. Not sure maybe these ingredients are hard to come by in Tbilisi. I also ordered the special pork bbq with chili fish sauce. Small pieces of fried fatty pork were good but too tiny and few to warrant the price (30 lari) and the fish sauce did not complement well the pork (though the chili flakes were good). Perhaps chili flakes mixed with white vinegar would have worked better. Lastly, lab moo tad (pork meatballs) did not turn out delicious; not sure why but anyway I asked for sweet chili sauce but received essentially ketchup, which was wholly inapt. Plum sauce would also have worked; yet another item I need to carry in my spice bag, I suppose. Surprise of the night was the cold green tea; so excellent, I ordered seconds. Reminded me of green tea icecream available at high-end sushi bars. I had to ask for extra ice; that beverage, with the added ice, was the high point of the meal for me. There is an extensive menu to sample from; prices are about 15-20% more than at the other Thai restaurant Thai curry down the road from Thai Charm; overall, the meat and chicken used (especially the chicken) appears better at Charm so worth the marginal increment in price. Moreover, Charm has a cozy basement dining room; Thai Curry is a two-room "stolovaya." My meal with all included except gratuity cost me about 134 lari (no alcohol but with four orders of rice). That seems to be somewhat on the high-end -- all things considered....
Read moreI recently had dinner at CHARM THAI restaurant in Tbilisi and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. The Thai dishes served here are incredibly authentic and delicious. The flavors transported me back to Thailand and reminded me of trips I took to Bangkok. Nina, the host at CHARM THAI, deserves special mention for her exceptional care and attentiveness. She went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Her recommendations on what to order were spot-on and made our meal even more enjoyable. The service provided by Nina and the entire staff was top-notch. It's safe to say that it was the best service I have experienced in Tbilisi so far. The atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and welcoming, adding to the overall dining experience. I highly recommend CHARM THAI to anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine in Tbilisi. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant when I visit Liberty Square again. Thank you, CHARM THAI, for the memorable...
Read moreWe found out this place while googling places to eat. At first it appeared to be a small shack in the basement. Wasn't to sure what to expect. Having travelled extensively world over and with a fair bit idea about Thai cuisine, we were amazed at the absolutely gorgeous and flavorful food. It was definitely among the best Thai food we have ever had. The original flavours, the extremely sweet and humble hostess and the very reasonable prices. We were in awe. Ate Pad Thai noodles with pork, Chilli fried beef, Sea food Tom yum soup, crispy fried pork belly with chillies...It was a surreal experience. All in all we strongly recommend everyone to visit, it 100%...
