My husband booked this room for our visit from the States. Let me say that most of the staff were very helpful except for one guy. The housekeeping staff was phenomenal. My room was always clean and restocked. The shower was great. Even when the rest of our family joined us, they could not check in until 3 so they showered in my room. We did not lack hot water.
If you are coming from the U.S., there are some things you should know about this hotel. There are no phones, room service, microwaves, refrigerators or ironing boards in the room. There are very few English speaking channels on the television which I get. We were in Germany. However, there was not an English captioning system for the German channels. There is Wi-Fi though so I was able to watch Netflix on my phone. The front desk staff was kind enough to give me an adapter so I could charge my phone. I did see an iron and ironing board in the hallway, so I guess you could request it but at the time, I didn’t know. The breakfast is made up of coffee/juices/water, breads, cheeses, boiled eggs, yogurt and fruit and it is not complimentary. Although the hotel website says it welcomes kids, the hotel’s main floor is mostly for their bar area so I wouldn’t call this hotel, “kid-friendly”. It is roughly a 15-18 minute walk from Hauptbahnhof and 4-5 minutes to Römerplatz in the main sightseeing area around Old Town. ||We made our reservation through booking.com. Confirmation was emailed immediately. We were very well received upon arrival and allowed to checkin a couple hours early which was really nice. Payment processed at arrival, express check-out available. They also have luggage storage if needed. Lobby area at this Motel One is large and very nice. Plenty of seats to relax and unwind. There is a nice bar as well for those who fancy a round of drinks in the evening. They also serve breakfast in the downstairs seating area each morning. ||Our room was exactly what is expected of Motel One properties, rather basic, no frills room but they get the important parts right. Space a bit on the small side but enough if you don't have oversized luggage. A few hangers and closet like space to hand clothing if needed. Sitting chair and small circle table works for a simple laptop if you need to do a bit of work. Heating, lighting, TV, wifi and room safe all worked just fine. Bed comfy enough. Bathroom also basic, shower worked just fine. No kettle, coffee, tea or water provided in the room.
