After its construction in the middle of the 6th century BCE, until around 350 BCE when the Echo Stoa was built with the role of separating the sacred from the profane, the stadium was twice moved to the east and remade. On the left, northern side, the slope offered a natural place for observation, but benches were also placed, the capacity of the stadium reaching 45,000 spectators. At the ends of the stadium, in the picture, were marked with rows of white stones, the start and finish lines, respectively 192.27 meters between them, the running track having dimensions of 212.54 meters long and 30-40 m wide.
