Ilis Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Ancient Olympia

I was on a five day school trip touring around greece. On the third day we came here. It seemed fine when we first eneterd, with a nice large clean lobby and dining area. We then went up to our rooms (i assume as we were a group of 42 school children we were tourist class). The rooms were small and badly lit, the bathroom was so small, when you sat on the toilet you were basically in the shower. The beds were full of other people's hair and had some very suspicious stains. My friend, who slept on an extra bed that had been provided, almost fell right through it as four of the wooden beams fell off. The food was awful. We had undercooked calamari, covered in oily mushy batter, followed by fish, with the same batter. The fish was so bad it turned the consistency of porridge in your mouth. They also very much struggled with the concept of any dietary requirements. Over night was fine but when we woke we were greeted by an overpowering smell of smoke coming through the vents, and on further exploring we discovered the whole hotel smelt the same. Tre stelle? Ma dove!||||Ho (mio malgrado) soggiornato in questo hotel una notte per una gita scolastica.||Arriviamo in hotel in tarda serata, ci consegnano le chiavi e ci dirigiamo alla ricerca della stanza.||Viste le generose dimensioni dei bagalgi, salgo sull'ascensore e cerco di capire a che piano sia la mia stanza. Nulla, nessuna indicazione che indichi a che piano si trovino le stanze. Tento la fortuna, pigio un tasto a caso e l'ascensore parte: oltre ad essere sporco e vecchio, qcco qui la prima sorpresa: l'ascensore manca di porta interna, perciò si possono tranquillamente toccare le pareti tra un piano e l'altro; viva la sicurezza!||Se inizialmente pensavo che l'ascensore fosse la cosa peggiore, bene, mi sbagliavo. Arrivato al piano la scena è inquietante. Corridoi bui, muri sporchi. Non so cosa aspettarmi dalla camera. ||Trovata la camera, tutti i miei presentimenti vengono confermati: la camera è buia, vecchia e trasandata, non viè alcun elemento decorativo, le luci sono dei faretti sporchi di vernice che nemmeno nel dopoguerra. I copriletti sono di un verdastro che non può che evocare sporco, il bagno è minuscolo. Vicino ai 3 letti, vi è una poltrona tutt'altro che pulita. La stanza in sé è davvero inquietante. Ma il peggio deve ancora arrivare.||E' ora di cena.||Ci sediamo al tavolo e le cameriere, forse unica nota positiva di questo posto, iniziano a servire i piatti. Da italiano all'estero quale sono, ho abbassato pretese e aspettative, mi reputo una persona culinariamente molto aperta, pronta ad assaggiare le specialità locali. Come prima portata ci viene servito un pasticcio di pasta ( e qui mi sale il magone) che è un vero e proprio pasticcio: scotto e del tutto insipido. Devastato da una viaggio di più di 40 ore, mangio. Ci viene quindi servita un 'insalata di cavolo e carote: meglio del piatto precedente, non molto saporita ma mangiabile. Infine, un piatto di pollo al forno con riso, forse il "miglior" piatto della serata, anche se fa molto mensa della fabbrica e non ristorante di hotel, pollo abbastanza saporito, riso ben condito e mangiabile.||Vi ho convinti che la cena non è poi così male? Beh, se così fosse vi sbagliate: miei compagni hanno trovato capelli nelle portare, e il non plus ultra è stato un rgano nel pasticcio di pasta.||Cena molto mediocre, posto molto mediocre che ispira tutto meno che comfort, pulizia e igene.||La colazione è piuttosto standard, livelli molto bassi rispetto a quelle italiane. Il succo d'arancia è disgustoso, la macchina che lo eroga lo diluisce ad acqua, ed ha tutti i gusti meno che quello di una buona e fresca spremuta. Buona la torta alle mele con la cannella e lo yogurt greco, ottimo con miele e corn flakes.||||L'hotel non mi ha soddisfatto, ed è tutto meno che un tre stelle. Probabilmente, un posto così, in Italia avrebbe già chiuso.||Una stella solo per la meravigliosa posizione centrale nella piccola Olimpia, vicina al sito...

Entirely unpleasant. I knew once I opened the door that something was up. The room smelled of mold and everything was outdated. Holes and plaster over the walls and "landlord special". The wifi is less than subpar and only works in the lobby. As of writing this, the first night is not even over. I am struggling to sleep both due to the smell of my room and the bed itself.

The location is perfect and the son of the owner is nice and polite, but otherwise I find nothing enjoyable about this hotel. In fact, the room I stayed in only had two outlets and both of them were on walls opposite the bed, only one of which had a desk, so good luck if you have a morning alarm.

You get what you pay for. Don't take the risk with some of the other sketchy reviews. Spend your money in hotels with better reviews if you plan to...
