FOOD POISONING: My friends and I came on two separate occasions and experienced severe vomiting and sickness. Sunday, June 30th - I got sick Wednesday, July 3 - They got sick
Since the food here is delicious/fresh, I originally thought another restaurant had made me sick. That’s why we were inclined to return.
Symptoms: vomiting for over 24 hours, constant nausea, fatigue, loss of appetite, aches and pains.
When my friends also became very ill, I became extremely concerned. I decided to call up the restaurant and let them know. I kindly told them of our experience AND that I don’t want any refund. My point wasn’t to accuse them.
The manager proceeded to tell me that I was wrong That they serve a high volume of people a day and no one has complained That I must’ve gotten sick from something else (We’ve been here for 3 weeks - nothing has bothered us)
Instead of showing concern, she completely dismissed me. I had to explain that my complaint was not an attack on their restaurant, and that my comment was only to keep them aware. I wouldn’t have called if it didn’t happen twice. She genuinely didn’t care and was getting agitated. Your blatant disrespect and ignorance is potentially putting your customers at risk. God forbid someone elderly gets sick because of your ego.
When Laganon opened in 2017, I was one of your first customers and was so impressed with the food. This is why I took my friends here.
I did my responsibility by reporting the situation. You failed. This is disgusting and you...
Read moreReally nice place close to Chania port, clean and with nice staff. We went there 3 days in a row for ordering take away food and we were always happy. Customers can choose the shape of pasta and the dish they want. I start to say that even though I'm Italian I was conscious that I was eating pasta & pizza in Crete, so I wasn't surprised to find modifications in the recipes or that dishes weren't exactly the same as in Italy. For example, pasta alla puttanesca is not the original recipe we all know, but ingredients were clearly listed (tuna, feta, peppers) and I like it anyway. Pasta al pesto and risotto ai funghi were delicious too, whilst pasta con gamberi is good but contains heavy cream, which is unsual for us in a similar dish, but it was my fault to order it as that ingredient was listed in the menu and I didn't notice it because it was unexpected. In geneal, many dishes contain heavy cream, which we don't particularly like, so we opted for dishes without that (instead of taking a carbonara dish and then complaining because it's not the orginal recipe and because contains heavy cream, IN CRETE). Pasta and parmigiano portions are really generous (we could use one portion of parmigiano for two dishes) and prices are fair. Pizza is thin but good, even if I preferred pasta. The staff is extremely kind, especially the owner, a real gentleman, always polite and nice. Totally...
Read moreThis place is a hidden gem in Chania! Seriously the best pasta I've ever had and I've traveled through quite a few cities in Italy. It's self-service so you can avoid all the extra bread and expensive table water fees that you may encounter at different restaurants, especially at the Venetian Port. The price is really affordable and because the pasta is made fresh, it sets it apart than all the other Italian restaurants in the area. I had the pasta of the day which was squid ink spaghetti with marinara sauce (with really fresh shrimp, mussels and clam) and it was INCREDIBLE. So incredible in fact that we went back the next day to get some more. My boyfriend had the salmon pasta with pink sauce which was also amazing. The owner (forgot the lady's name unfortunately) was so kind, and introduced herself when she brought out our coffees. Even though it was a "self-serve" restaurant, she was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy with the meal. Absolutely recommend this place...
