Nice location
Different food than the typical Greek food offered in chania
Salads and appetizers I ordered were nice and delicious
Pasta pravas was so nice Cretan salad was really the best in the city And the Cigars were nice appetizers I also ordered another dish but unfortunately I forgot but really all were good .
When it came to the main courses I ordered the lahmuajun, as a person coming from the middle east , sorry but this was not a lahmuajun or even close to it , having minced meat over a pita bread is not a lahmuajun, and paying 14 euros for this peace is way too much , lahmuajun should be made with a real raw dough and baked inside an oven so sorry this dish did not pass
We also ordered shish kebab , I don't eat pork so I could not try it , but my friend did and said it was average,
My recommendation is that since you are named the well of the turks, your shish kebab should be made without Pork coz this is how is is made in Middle east and turkey and to allow everyone try it ..
Would I come back again?
Absolutely I will come back , I still want to try the other dishes and I think that the service was polite and the location is good and I think they cook well and serve really good food ..
Prices are a bit higher than Similar ones in the city , but...
Read moreI hadn’t pre-planned where I would eat in Chania because my overnight trip was last minute - I decided to take a break from Heraklion. I swung by around 6:15 and lucked out and getting a table wasn’t a problem at all. Keep in mind that the locals eat very late, though! That said, it is recommended to book ahead.
I ordered the stuffed zucchini blossoms, which were served more like fritters, and they were delicious! They were accompanied by a lovely sauce and some tomatoes. As a main, I ordered a half portion of the shish kebab - minced meat with spices, served in fresh, thin pita along with yogurt and other assorted goodness. Let me tell you that their half portion was also huge and I had to take half of the half home (made for a great breakfast though!). The food was wonderful and I was served fresh fruit at the end of my meal, along with the traditional raki.
Service: Great.
Price point: Very affordable - I think the above + a glass of wine cost...
Read moreWhat a fabulous place. Don't sit at the front - there is a beautiful little garden area a the side. The waiting staff are very knowledgeable about the food and the wine. The first time we visited there were 3 of us and we chose main courses, which are offered in the usual Cretan way, for everyone to share. The food was amazing - Cretan w with a slight Turkish and north African slant. We shared anchovies to start then had lamb with preserved lemons and couscous, Shish kebab (which came very nicely presented wrapped in pita with salad and sauce_) and lahmajun wish that was flatbed with spicy mince on it. When we went again (just 2 of us) we shared some meze: Red peppers with anchovies, hummus with pita, Moroccan brick ( a filo parcel with aubergine, feta and herbs and spices) and meatballs with turkish bread which is thin bread with red spicy sauce. It was great. I would definitely recommend this place - the prices are fair and the...
