Bus Stop to Fira — Attraction in Municipality of Thira

This is the bus stand of Oia. Buses operate between this bus stop and Fira. Im attaching the bus time table here as pasted on the wall. Buses are reliable. There may be delays of 5 min like but bus will come. This bus stop is located close to main walking alley of Oia where main photo stops like 3 blue domes are located. Main walking alliey starts about 500m before bus stop along the coast towars fira. Bus stop is located close to midway of the alley and alley continues further towards Oia castle which is one of the best sunset spots. Other best place for sunset is 3 bells of Fira or on its path. Central bus stand in Santorini is located in Fira, which is the capital of Santorini. Buses run to other areas of the island from Fira. So from one area, you have to first get to Fira and then to the other area. For example, To get to airport from Oia, first get to Fira bus stand and then to airport. Avoid this absolute hell hole at all costs.

There is absolutely no order to this area at all. There is no queueing system, it's survival of the fittest to get onto the public bus.

Expect pushing, shoving, and shouting every time a bus appears and don't expect to get the first bus that comes along.

So many simple steps could be taken to make this experience better. • Designate an area for queuing, perhaps with ropes. • Use the staff at the bus stop to manage the queues rather than just standing there. • Sell tickets to people as they wait for the bus so it isn't just a scramble to get on board.

Mixed reviews so wanted to share my experience. First week of October (considered low season, though I still felt it was very busy) This bus stop to Fira was efficient. I lined up, paid €2 and was on a clean bus to Fira. The return from Fira to Oia was chaotic. I will write a review there about that experience.
