My name is Kezia and I stayed at Aspaki hotel in early April 2024 for my birthday. The customer service experience upon greeting with Joanna who works there was horrible. she was very rude had an attitude and was rolling her eyes directly in my face. It seemed like she hated doing her job & she was just there barely doing what she had to do.The greeting was horrible her attitude was horrible. Nobody wants to experience that on their birthday weekend, on vacation, and my dream trip that I had been planning since 2021. Also, the room I booked here was the endless bottoms blue room which is the most expensive room here at the Aspaki hotel with your own private plunge pool that is supposed to come with chocolate in the room a bottle of champagne and rose petals sprinkled everywhere that cost maybe and extra 3-400$ with the room rate. Overall room price was 14-1500 euros a NIGHT that I paid. I paid top notch dollar for this room only to be brought to my Room by Joanna with no rose petals. All that was in my room was 2 pieces of chocolate and a bottle of champagne. The attention to detail here is very poor in service and if someone is paying top dollar for this their room should have everything that was requested and paid for prior to arrival. All of the amenities should be there that were paid for. What’s even worse is another receptionist coming to my room lying to me and blatantly playing in face by tell me “we like to bring rose petal out in mid stay” this is the excuse she made for the missing rose petal that were supposed to be sprinkled upon the foot entrance into the bed when I first arrived to see my room for the first time. Only a fool would believe that rose petal coming to be sprinkled in the middle of the day you are staying here was just an excuse for their lack of attention to detail and lack of preparation for my room that I paid 1500$ euros for!! Why would you say you normally come in the middle of the day for the sprinkler rose petal and when my room is halfway dirty. Anybody with common sense knows these things are all done at the beginning before ever entering the room. Shame on that receptionist to lie to me in my face instead of taking accountability and doing things to make it right. So me seeing my room for the first time was very disappointing missing amenities that were paid for in the most expensive rate that could have been paid with the best room that was supposed to be there. Also, the bed/mattress that I slept on there was very cheap and worn out and sunken in it was very uncomfortable to experience. My back felt like it was caved in and sinking while laying down on the bed paying the most expensive rate. Also, it was my birthday and not one staff member bothered to tell me happy birthday or treat me as such even though I left notes notes in my reservation booking stating so and why I was coming and why this moment was special for me prior to arrival. The only reason I give this hotel 1 star is because for 1, they took me to a designated area where I can sit and drink champagne and watch the sunset ( with no cold ice drinking hot champagne) and 2, the breakfast was amazing. That was the ONLY thrill I got out of staying here. If you’re looking for half the amenities to be missing in your room when you pay top dollar, poor hospitality, overpriced hotel booking with missing amenities, rude and disgruntled workers that tell lies and make excuses for not doing their job correctly and not taking accountability for their mistakes and wrongdoings and not being attentive to detail regarding your stay and not making you feel welcomed at all. this is the hotel for you! This hotel price was way too expensive for the experience that I had here it is not worth it at all. I left this hotel and stayed at Olvos Luxury Suites where I had the dream of a lifetime for half the rate! Don’t waste your time or hard...
Read moreBeautiful and unique hotel. This was part of my birthday trip and the room was absolutely gorgeous with beautiful views from our private terrace. My hubby and I stayed May 22-26.
On arrival, we had the hotel arrange a car to pick us up at the airport. The car can only go so far so the driver parked in a small parking lot where Blero from the hotel picked us up. He brought a hand trolley to put our luggage on, and off we went through the narrow filled pedestrian walkways. It was a 10 min walk to the hotel. Once we got to the hotel, it was crazy impressive how Blero carried our suitcases on his shoulders down very steep stairs to our room! Nefeli welcomed us to our room where she spent about 15-20 minutes chatting with us regarding our stay, breakfast, the room and anything we needed. We were also greeted with drinks.
The room was gorgeous beyond belief! Rose petals in our room with a bottle of Veuve Clicqot! We had a huge terrace with amazing views. We also had a plunge pool which was situated on the terrace where it had more privacy. The terrace also included a lounge bed, lounge chairs and also a table where we had most of our breakfasts. The bed and linens were comfy, good water pressure in the shower, small couch, desk, safe, fridge all provided with plenty of space in the room- beautiful cave room. This may sound silly but I was so happy/shocked that they had a diffuser attachment for the blowdryer! It’s all in the details with this hotel because most hotels overlook us wavy/curly haired girls. My only (small) complaint is that there was no vertical mirror, only a large horizontal mirror where you can’t really see your full outfit when getting dressed.
The Breakfast: You can have it in your room or at the outside restaurant/bar area. You check off a menu list of items the day before and give it to reception. It’s a huge menu of items to choose from and we attempted to try something different everyday. The morning of my bday, they added pancakes to my order with a candle and sang happy birthday- so sweet!
The Dinner: We had dinner one night at their restaurant and everything was spectacular. It was also during sunset. The hotel is situated in a perfect spot with amazing views all around.
The famous Santorini Sunset: Aspaki is situated on the part of the island where you can't see the sunset hit the ocean. However, we had access to the sister hotel (Oia Castle) which is a 7 minute walk. There is a VIP section for viewing but you need to arrange this with the reception earlier in the day since they can only take around 6-7 people max. Someone from Asapki escorts the group. You can also order drinks to bring.
I love that it’s a small hotel because you definitely have more of an intimate experience and it never really feels packed even though every room is probably sold out.
The hotel, staff and whole experience is top notch and I would definitely go back in...
Read moreImagine a sitting in a private pool with your special person, with the pool partially hanging on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea and partially wrapped inside a cave hollowed out of the volcanic cliff. Sitting directly above you but out of your view is Oia Castle, the very best place in the entire island to watch the sunset. You can either watch the sunset from your pool or climb up a few stairs to sit on your private sunbeds while enjoying a bottle of wine and a plate of greek appetizers. After the sun sets, you can either make your way back to your modern, comfortable room or step down the path to one of many restaurants. From your private balcony, you can watch (or join) the tourists and donkeys climbing the stairs from the port directly below you. Hotel staff is never far away but never too close - a perfect balance. This is Art Maisons Oia Castle. If you cannot fall in love here, you are perhaps a lost cause.||There are few practicalities: (1) it is expensive, but you get what you pay for. It is a small property where everyone gets individual attention, and it is very unique real estate; if you want a bargain - this is not it. (2) You need to take them up on their offer to meet you at the bus station and deliver your luggage. Like all hotels in that part of the village, you cannot drive directly to the hotel. You have to walk. We were met by a very nice guy who is tremendously strong - hefting one full size suitcase over his shoulder and carrying the other by a handle up and down many flights of crowded stairs - definitely a life saver; (3) There is no restaurant on the property. You order breakfast to arrive at a designated time the night prior, and they bring it directly to your suite where you can sit outside and watch the village come alive; (4) getting to your hotel right at sunset when four or five cruise ships are in town can be challenging since the entrance is about 10 meters from Oia Castle which is a VERY popular destination for Instagram photos.||Finally, if you are old enough to have lived through the 1980's, you may remember a movie called Summer Lovers with Darryl Hannah (Cathy) and Peter Gallagher (Michael). This hotel (prior to a major renovation) was actually the location of Lena's villa and looks directly across at the villa of Michael and Cathy. Lena's room is now Room 205. We stayed in Room 206 which shares a...
