Beautiful hotel and museum with a wonderful spa. We arrived in Antigua after spending a week installing stoves and water filters in surrounding villages. Tired and a bit physically in pain, we scheduled two 90 minute massages with mini facials the evening of our arrival. The hot water grotto soak and beautiful spa pool were exactly what we needed to recover and rest. We ordered room service and got blow outs in the salon the next day. Very happy with the spa services, the salon and the hotel. I heard their spa was pricy but not compared to amenities provided, in my opinion. I’m sure there are day spas and salons less expensive but having the convenience of it being in our hotel, the ambiance and the spa cafe…I felt like it was a bargain. We also saw several events being held there and it looks like a magical place for a wedding, birthday or any sort of celebration. We had a basic room with two beds and a fire place and small table with chairs. After checking in and seeing the room, I wanted to upgrade to a bigger room with separate living room and maybe some private outdoor space but it was not available or I wasn’t able to communicate properly. In US dollars this hotel is very good value and I highly recommend booking an upgraded room. I wish I had thought to do it sooner. Before leaving Antigua for the villages in the area I stayed at El Convento which is much smaller and boutique like. It was also very nice. No spa, or salon but it had a wonderful cafe and room service. The price on line for the two hotels was similar but my room at El Convento was bigger with an additional seating area and an outdoor bathtub. If you are going with a larger group Casa Santo Domingo is fitting as the pool can accommodate groups of guests where the El Convento property is more private and perfect for the solo traveler that wants peace and tranquility. Locations of both hotels are in town and walkable to restaurants and shops. Do be mindful of footwear as the cobblestone streets can be slippery and challenging for ladies who wear heels. I have some orthopedic challenges and wore Birkenstocks a few days then borrowed my sisters hiking boots the day it rained. If you are going in rainy season pack rubber boots or something with good traction to keep your feet out of the water that rushes down the streets in a down pour. Most importantly, smile! Enjoy this historic city and its beautiful people, culture and food! Can’t wait to go back!!

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. We booked through Expedia and had no issues checking in or out. We also booked transportation to and from the airport through the hotel and both trips went smooth. Back to our stay, our room was on the first floor and we had access to a small outdoor area. The room was the perfect size as was the restroom. The closet is a bit small with limited hangers but no biggie. We spent a little while at the pool which has servers coming around and you can order food and drinks. We didn’t really stay much a the hotel during our 4.5 days in Antigua but it was the perfect place to come rest after being out and about. The staff were friendly and attentive at all times and made us feel right at home.

Hotel Casa Santo Domingo is a breathtaking hotel located in the heart of Antigua, Guatemala. The hotel's architecture is a beautiful blend of colonial and modern styles, which gives it a unique and elegant touch. It kept the colonial ruins inside the hotel and provides museum quality for visitors and hotel guests to enjoy. The staff is incredibly friendly and always available to assist guests with any need they may have. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and have all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The hotel's restaurant serves delicious food, and the rooftop bar offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. I was also impressed by the hotel's commitment to preserving the local culture and environment. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Hotel Casa Santo Domingo and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and authentic experience in Antigua.

The hotel exceeded my expectations! The room was spotless, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. A perfect blend of comfort and hospitality Exceptional service! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Beautiful decor, great amenities, and a prime location. Highly recommend!” Clean and comfortable, but the check-in process was slow, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. Decent for a short stay, but improvements needed.”Fantastic views!
