Amazing food from start to finish! Highly recommend the "around Iceland" 4 course menu. Decided to book this place to celebrate my husband's birthday but realised the restaurant does not add any birthday decor or candle, thus we just treated it as a normal meal. The bread came with brown butter & granola, which in my opinion, was one of the highlights of the dinner. I really miss the brown butter from Finland & was so happy to have it again here. The granola added a nice touch to the delicious bread & butter combination. The starter was the cod with cabbage & celery - which to be honest, felt like a main dish. It was super good, buttery, & we were almost licking off the bowl. Next came the cured salmon with mussel ice cream. It was kind of strange, definitely not my favourite. But the combination worked! We were then served the main course, which was three different types of fish, cooked differently. They were all a tad salty for my Asian taste buds & at this point the portion was too huge to finish. The battered fish was the best out of the trio. Lastly, I had the tiramisu (swapped out the offered dessert) & it was.... Alright. Quite good but not something I would go back for. Ultimately, a meal to remember. The best meal we had in Iceland! The service was also impeccable. Would definitely come back again if we ever have the chance. Thank you for the beautiful culinary experience.

Considered one of the best Reykjavik restaurants, Fish Company does not disappoint neither with it's quirky yet cosy decor, attentive and knowledgeable stuff nor with its mouthwatering dishes presented with the style. From the moment you enter the place you are given the right amount of attention and hospitality. The menu is not too long hence you won't waste your time on making the decisions. We had pan fried cod as an appetizer which was delicious. Perhaps, a little too salty for my taste but looks like this is the icelandic way. My Arctic char was fantastic: served with smoky mayonnaise, apple puree and Israeli artichokes that tasted like moist and delicious figs! All the flavors blended in perfectly leaving a bit space for the right amount of gentle sweetness and smokiness. The portion was gracious. Catch of the day was a well prepared ocean Perch with asparagus and kale. Slightly crispy on the outside it delivered wonderful flavours once you put a piece of fish in your mouth. Sinple yet beautifully prepared. We went here for lunch hence did not have to break a bank. The check was very reasonable and we were able to experience one of the best eating destinations in Reykjavik. Iceland is expensive overall and we were prepared to spend some amount on the well prepared meal cooked by the new wave of Icelandic chefs.

the ambiance here is truly something great - if coming for dinner, i would imagine one would need a reservation we had lunch on a friday and as we were seated, a number of other guests had arrived we started with two cocktails, which were both prepared well, and then decided on the 'a large sushi' assortment we both wanted the large sushi, so they plated it on a big platter for us, i ordered the tempura king prawns as well, and that was plated on the big platter also the sashimi was very good, and the prawn tempura included huge shrimp that were totally worth the price we were a little taken back by the maki rolls and nigiri, however, as the rice was undercooked the texture was off - the rice was a little hard, and therefore, it kind of ruined the sushi experience as a whole with that being said, the fish all tasted super fresh and high quality, hence why we enjoyed the sashimi the most i also have to give major points to the beurre noisette (camaralized butter), as it was truly fantastic and probably was one of the better bread baskets we have ever had overall, it was a good experience, and somewhere that i would visit again, we would probably just stick to the sashimi or hot entrees in the future, though

Our first day visiting Reykjavik we popped in for a cocktail and knew we wanted to return for dinner. We loved the ambiance...sat on the patio for our starters (quilts are provided in case it is chilly out). There was a complimentary chef’s appetizer of Icelandic fish stew with herb, mayonnaise foam and a rye crumble on top. We had all of the following... Boiled shellfish soup with scallops & cashew paste, celery and apples with cardamom. Grilled beef tenderloin & grill spear with giant prawn, shallot, bell pepper, mushroom & bone marrow vinaigrette. Deep fried plaice & birch glazed lobster with noisette braised white asparagus with lemon & hollandaise. Hot chocolate tart with pralin filling & saucy caramel, white chocolate crystals & mint sorbet. Delicious! Also the butter with table bread was AMAZING. Service was impeccable and we loved the cozy feel of the stone walls and candlelight. The bar area was beautiful. We paid 32,202 Icelandic Kronos ...along with food + wine and cocktails, I feel this is close to what we would have spent in the States. Great experience!

When we left, we were both giddy drunk (no, we didn't have a drop of liquor) from how delicious everything was. The langoustine soup was not quite the Icelandic standard (read: loads of cream); more of a bouillabaisse with insanely intense flavour. We really had to control ourselves from ordering seconds. Our mains were a lamb and a fish dish (apologies for not remembering in detail). The sauces accompanying the lamb was impeccably paired and it was exactly medium rare. However, the star really was the fish. It was melt-in-your-mouth-good, with perfect seasoning and sauces. Dessert was unsurprisingly a lovely light skyr cream with rhubarb meringue bits. Surprisingly good was the hazelnut ice-cream paired with it, the aftertaste of salted caramel cloyingly makes you crave more. Even the butter for their bread basket was fantastic. Service was detailed and pleasant. Every ingredient was purposeful (it wasn't just adding coconut for the sake of tickling your mind to order it) and it really made a lasting impression. A pricey experience but well-worth it.

It's pricey, but that's everything in Iceland (I spent about $100 for app, main, and a drink), but if you can get over that, this place is good. I'm not a super pretentious eater though, so please keep that in mind! They started us off with bread and amuse bouche (scallop and herb foam of sort). I ordered a crispy kale salad with cod and a fancy white sauce (sorry guys I should have taken a picture of the menu) that was very small, on the saltier side, but still quite good. And for the main course I ordered tenderloin with a giant prawn skewer. The meats were cooked perfectly and the sauce a lovely sweet and savory flavor. By the end of the meal I was stuffed and couldn't have dessert. The staff was very nice and accommodating to my friend who had a few serious allergies. Highly recommend coming here if you're in Reykjavik! Make reservations though because I had to wait 1.5 hours to be seated.
