My father is an idiot. Important contextual information. In summer 2001, my father, brother of then 13 and I went to Dublin on a city trip. He refused to book accommodation in advance. So we arrive in the city and go the tourist office to make a booking. Had to settle with a business hotel on Harcourt Street ($$$). As it cost more then he could withdraw in a day, he would make three payments. On day three, no more money was available, reached the withdrawal limit. Spent the majority of the day at the B of I, getting money wired from his Belgian bank. In the end they closed for the day, no money. Luckily for the time difference, the B of I was still open. Seeing an incompetent idiot with two underage children and no money to pay for accommodation, the kind lady that had been facilitating us, took pity, and borrowed us the third withdrawal.
