We are disappointed with the quality of the supposed silver gladdagh rings. We have send well over 200 euro on various Silver rings for our grand daughters in Ocober last year. Some of the rings are no longer shining and the silver looks like to have watn off and are metal underneath. We expect (but we are no experts) that they were just silver coated and not solid silver. For the price paid we expected them to be solid silver. In total we bought 6 rings (as we have 6 grand children). The rings were meant to be a long life memory for them to look back on our trip to Ireland where we showed them where Grandma and great grandma grew up. We went to see the graves of great great Grandma and great great Grandad. We had an Irish themed night with story telling, Irish food and live music. We wanted the rings to be a constant reminder to the children of the times that we had together during the week in Ireland and for them to be reminded that they are Iriah blood. We expected Carrols to have a quality product as they have so many shops where many people buy their products and who have established for many years. We are sad that this is not the case and as we do not visit homeland very often we do not have the opportunity to complain, get an exchange or a refund. Anybody buying and jewellery, please ask if the items are solid and if they come with some form of guarantee. Our rings were bought in Octrober and are only about 6 months old and that is a great...
Read moreAs a local Dublin resident, I wanted to share my disappointing experience with this store. I purchased a merino sweater for my mother two months ago, and to my dismay, the knits have completely disintegrated, resulting in a large hole.
What made the situation even worse was the manager's rude and defiant attitude when I approached her for a resolution. Despite knowing that the damaged sweater was purchased from their store, she repeatedly insisted on seeing the receipt. When I offered to show her the proof of purchase, she claimed that since the sweater had been washed, I was not eligible for a refund. This reasoning is illogical, as I am not someone who intentionally damages clothes and then demands a refund. My concern genuinely lies in the low quality and poor durability of the product.
If the manager fails to respond to my sincere request for a refund or replacement, I will be compelled to refer to the Consumer Protection Act 2007. This legislation clearly states that consumers have the right to expect products to be durable and of expected quality for normal use. In such a case, I would have no choice but to pursue legal action against Carrolls Irish Gifts using the Small Claims Procedure.
I hope that the store will address this matter promptly and uphold their responsibility to provide satisfactory...
Read moreThe store offers (at least during September 2021) a 10% discount on your next purchase if you provide your email at the moment of paying to the cashier. So, I did it. Next day I am back to the store and the same cashier is asking me for a code that should had arrived to my email (but I never received not even in spam folder) to make the discount valid. I explained this to the cashier and even to the store manager who was called to sort the situation out. The store manager said "no code, no discount". I am sure the cashier didn't even entered my email correctly the first time and didn't even make me aware that I should receive a code in my inbox. You need to be aware of this is if you are interested in making this discount valid during your next purchase. Make sure the cashier enters your email correctly and you get a code in your email's inbox before...
