Lacken Walk — Attraction in The Municipal District of Kilkenny City

Had a fantastic walk today from Kilkenny castle along the canal/River walk, crossed the bridge and headed back on the Lacken walk. This will not disappoint. From the beautiful views of the river walking along the raised boardwalk, to older sections that I assume are hundreds of years old, Lacken well (holy??) and some old steps. While stopped to look at the weir, we watched an otter fishing, pointed out to us by a friendly local. Awesome. Wonderful walk, in the middle of a city. True gem, will be back...

Beautiful walk at this time of year. Starting in the city, within minutes, you were walking alongside the river with lush banks of cow parsley and tall trees with fresh green leaves. Beautiful walk along the river. You can go up one side and down the other side. Some parts of it are a bit muddy/narrow. Also a little bit hard to find the entrance that's through the hotel car park. Well worth a look. Nice bit of nature right off...
