Lion King Chinese Takeaway & Restaurant — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Kilkenny City

I ordered from this restaurant last night while in Kilkenny. I ordered Hot and Sour Soup, Schezuen Chicken and a Chicken Chow Mein.

The delivery was fast, the food arrived piping hot and the chow mein was of a good quality and tasty. That was where this all stopped!

The hot and sour soup had sweet chilli in it, and had an overriding sweet flavour that was not pleasant. This was more of a sweet and nothing soup and definitely not hot and sour.

I then opened the 'Schezuen' chicken and to my absolute disgust this was again a sweet chilli chicken and not a schezuen pepper in sight. I rang the restaurant to see if i had been given the wrong dish in error and I was told 'No they do Schezuen Chicken with sweet chilli'! Well then this is not Schezuen chicken but sweet chilli chicken. The flavour was not to my taste at all, it was so sweet when all I wanted was the yummy spiciness of schezuen peppers.

To their credit they agreed to get the delivery driver to come back to collect the food, as I was not going to eat either of these dishes, and I have just received my refund today also.

If the schezuen & soup had been to the standard of the chow mein, I would have given this 5/5 but unfortunately neither were the...

My gosh it dusnt get much worse than this place!!!!! I ordered a mega munch box for my boys and my wife spring rolls and ribs starter for myself and I ate 2 spring rolls and started to feel ill because possibly the amount of grease awful.... my wife and boys opened what I can only discribe as the scraps that were lieing around all day I have to say this rubbish was not fit for human consumption dried out bones batter and crispy coating that could take your teeth!
