Hang Roma - Unconventional Leather Bags - Hand Made in Rome _Concept Store — Attraction in Rome

I happened upon Hang Roma by accident today and was drawn in by the artisanal leather purses. It is a small shop, today presided over by Valentina, one of the co-founders/ designers/ artisans. Beautiful quality vegetable tanned leather goods, desiged and made by hand in Rome. I purchased a Barcaccia M bag and a beautifully stitched belt. The bag is minimalistic but sophisticated- the calf leather is butter soft, a subtle sheen, the zipper double ended and functions smoothly. The bags come S, M and L. The M bag is large enough to stash my raincoat and everyday carry. It lives up to its name and hugs my body beautifully. I envision this as an urban travel bag. My wife and visited Rome back in January and discovered this wonderful shop as we were out exploring the neighborhood. We purchased several items for ourselves and for our grown children. For myself I purchased a card wallet that is the only wallet I carry for myself anymore. I also purchased a small zippered leather pouch that I had them monogram. It was a perfect size for carrying misc cables and chargers. On a subsequent trip here in the US the pouch was lost but after I contacted the shop they were able to make me a replacement. Valentina is an amazing artist creating handcrafted leather goods. Everything in her store is a piece of art and one of a kind. Coming from a family of cobblers, her handbags are hand stitched with excellent craftsmanship. I happened upon her store by chance and I was so pleasantly surprised to find such unique and high quality leather goods. This has been the finest leather shop that I have experienced in Italy. There are no pushy salespeople here. You will find yourself welcomed by the artisan herself who is happy to answer any questions while you browse. I highly recommend Valentina.
