Gelatoteca Suso — Restaurant in Venice

Rude staff. A week ago, I approached the counter to look at the ice cream flavors. I wasn't placing an order yet and I wasn’t cutting in line. A Black guy, your employee, started telling me that all the flavors were listed on the menu outside and even physically blocked my way with his hands.

I asked what the issue was and why I couldn’t simply look at the flavors inside the shop, especially since the line was short and I had no intention of skipping ahead. He once again rudely asked me to leave.

I was shocked by this behavior, and as I was walking out, I heard him say that I should speak to him “with more respect.”

I have no idea what was going through his mind — maybe he was having a bad day — but as a customer, I am extremely dissatisfied with how I was treated...

Got curious because of the queue… everyone was ordering pistachio but i decided to go against the flow and ordered a scoop of Opera gelato because it was almost gone. My whole world exploded with a high ive never experienced before. Whoooww! The nicest gelato flavor ive ever tasted in my life. I even came back the next day. Walked from my hotel near the main train station(20mins walk) just to get another scoop of the opera gelato! No queue at 10am and I told the staff about my 20min walk just for this and she gave me free tastes(small spoons) of the other flavors. While they were really good… i still went for the opera flavor. Oh man im coming back to Venice...

Suso’s gelato, the perfect way to end any Venetian dinner! We stumbled in after a sumptuous dinner and were immediately greeted with friendly staff. Place seemed to be a popular among tourists & locals. Their gelato is truly a standout—creamy, rich, and bursting with full-bodied flavors, it's a delightful and refreshing dessert that hit all the right notes. They have more than 20 flavors in gelato along with their creamy shakes. Their charming decor beautifully complements the store, adding to the overall delightful experience.
