[一人旅 日本制霸篇]鹿兒島市的繁華街 - 天文館 如果想熱鬧一點的話，可以來到「天文館」，是鹿兒島市最大型的繁華街及歡樂街(卡啦OK連鎖店都集中在天文館，鹿兒島中央站周邊反而沒有...) 「天文館」的來源可追溯至江戶時代，由於第25代藩主在此設立天體觀測設施，所以產生了「天文館」的名字，只是那處長期也是荒蕪的空地... 真正的發展由大正時代開始，由於九州最大級劇場「鹿兒島座」在此開業，加上後來不少劇場及電影院陸續開業，漸漸聚集了人流及食店，加上當時最尖端的百貨公司「山形屋」開業，路面電車通車等，形成今日的繁華街面貌。除了大型百貨店「山形屋」外，也有遊客喜愛的「ドン・キホーテ 天文館店」，值得慢慢停留。 延伸知識：植根鹿兒島的老店「山形屋」 要說天文館的地標，不得不提百貨公司的「山形屋」，是早在江戶時代1751年開業的和服商，雖然起初在關西創業，但受到薩摩藩的招手而在1772年搬到鹿兒島開店，成為鹿兒島城下唯一的和服店。 「山形屋」本店在1877年的西南戦争的戰火下被燒毀，後在金生町(現在地)重新開店，由於「山形屋」擁有前衛經營思維，將貨品陳列在店前(其他和服商是下單後才制作成品給客人)，所以在1916年將和服店大幅改建成3層高的百貨公司，成為當地最時尚的地標。 雖然百貨公司大樓在1945年的空襲中受損，不過在1953年修復加建成為7層高的建築物，後再在1972年改建，並在1998年改建成今天的面貌，這100多年的歷史及改變可說每一代人不同的回憶。 值得一提的是「山形屋」仍保留了「大食堂」，其中「山形屋の焼きそば」(山形屋炒麵)是1958年推出至今的人氣名物，下次來到值得品嚐一下。

Visited in mid-July 2025

The largest, bustling sheltered shopping arcade in town, with lots of shops catering to both locals and tourists alike. There are a lot of eateries and cafes, as well as souvenir shops selling Kagoshima-specific stuffs.

It has a unique origin, being originally a site of a sun dial and astronomical observatory, therefore lots of the references of its past decorating the pavement and the ceiling of the arcade.

PS: the famous Shirokuma shaved ice is originated here, one can still visit their store in the southern end...

A nice shopping district where you can find many choices of accommodation, food and entertainment.

For travelers, there are some budget but decent hotels in this area. Since there are many shops in this area and is easily accessible by different modes of transport, it gives travelers a lot of convenience.
