The City Bakery Kyoto Shijo Teramachi — Restaurant in Kyoto

A great cafe/bakery for getting breakfast in Kyoto! The ambience is very clean and modern. All of the baked goods look amazing and the food is good too.

There are 2 floors to the place with seating on both floors. So if you're just walking by the bakery, it might not look that big, but the building is long and narrow.

I got the 4 item breakfast set with soup and a latte. Pretty much breakfast with all the extras for a grand total of 1848 yen. But, was it worth it?

Yes. The latte wasn't instant and it was actually well made by a barista. The breakfast dish was hearty with fresh ingredients. The corn soup was very rich and satisfying on a cold winter morning.

Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for breakfast...

I have been already 3 times. One of the best cappuccino in Kyoto. Different meals and a looot of bakery. It seems that they bake themselves. 2 floors and a small terrace with seats. I communicate with Japanese, but it seems that staff can speak English too. Usually go there during lunch hours. I recommend 4 spread (?) plate, cappuccino and mochi cake. But lemon pie was also tasty but a little bit sweet for me. Marshmello caramel croissant is very sweet and big, so I wasn't able to finish it😅 The only minus is the lack of Wi-fi, but I guess it is made initially not to make this place a co-working area. Definitely will come more, wanna try...

Was looking for a quick bite and a good coffee in the morning and decided to try this place. Overall we enjoyed - managed to get a hot tuna sandwich, a coffee, a latte, and a ham cheese and leek bun for 2200 yen. Definitely a bit more on the pricier side, but staff here are all very nice and I have to say the ham cheese and leek bun was one of the tastier pastries I've had in awhile. Wish I had come here earlier so I had more opportunities to try the other savory pasties which looked really good.

They also have proper breakfast dishes if that's more what you're looking for. Seating indoor...
