At first, I quite doubt this hotels from review. The impression of this hotel is an old hotel, but they have very strategic location and only 2 mins walk to Tawaramachi Station. It's perfect location for us that need simple access to Ginza line for Skyliner to Narita for morning flight. But turns out, it's not that bad. The hotel lobby is quite nice and modern. Indeed, the room has an old vibes but well maintained. You can see it clearly on bathroom furniture. The bathub, the bathroom floor, and the sink is yellowing but clean, the faucet is way oldschool, they still used 2 rotary knob for cold and hot water, so it's quite challenging because you need adjust the temperature everytime you turn it on. (I attached the photo from other reviewers cz I forgot to take the pict). The room is quite small just like another hotel in Tokyo, but unfortunately, their bed is short so we can't store our luggage under the bed. Pros: - THEY GIVE YOU 2 BOTTLES OF WATER FOR FREE EVERYDAY!! I never find any hotels I stayed in did this. - strategic location - neat and clean - pajamas provided (I think they change it everyday) - ezpz checkout process, just drop the card to the place they provided. Cons: - a bit oldschool interior, especially in bathroom - no antifog mirror in the bathroom - cannot store luggage under the bed - the closet is cold after room cleaning (but after you used it first time of the day, it will adjust the temperature) - sometimes you hear a drop water from bathroom, i think there's a leakage but didn't find the cause. - they provide air purifier but you need to ask for it if you need it since they don't put it in your room as a default. It's free, just ask for it, but you need to take it by yourself from the lobby to your room. Agora Place is worth to stay. Hope they can upgrade the bathroom interior.

Let’s talk about some good places first. The location of the hotel is really good. It’s about a 3-5 minute walk from the Ginza Line. The toiletries are pretty good and they’re from POLA. Other than that, it’s just a complaint. Let’s talk about it first. The design of this bathroom has been to Japan many times. I also understand that land in Japan is very expensive and all rooms are very small. But I really don’t know which genius could design such an anti-human bathroom. The opening of the table is only about 30 centimeters. Our 8-year-old child can't even walk in. How can adults wash their hands, face and brush their teeth in such a small space? There is a strong smell of urine in the bathroom, which is obviously not cleaned🤑. We booked three rooms The bed plus a sofa bed. After checking in, we asked the hotel to arrange a sofa bed. The front desk told us that it could not be arranged, so the four of us could only squeeze in three beds. When we checked in, it was clearly marked that we were staying for four people, but only three sets were prepared. Toiletries, and no one came to change towels the next day, and we were asked to go to the front desk to get clean towels the next day and send the towels we changed the day before to the third floor; I can bear all of this, the most annoying Unfortunately, on the day of check-out, we asked to store our luggage for one day (because we were going to the outskirts of Tokyo for a day), but the hotel told us that it could not be arranged, and the reason was so bizarre that it was unreasonable. Their explanation was that they could only store the luggage for guests until the day of check-out, I guess. Come on, why do I need to store it on the day I check out? Can you explain it to me? Is my request too much or is it the hotel's problem? I have stayed in many hotels around the world, and similar requests have never been rejected! We had no choice but to find a place to store our luggage for an inexplicable 2,000 yen! Rubbish hotels will always be in trouble, everyone must be cautious...

Agora is a chain with many locations, and this place has a decent location for Asakusa. Clean but small rooms. Decor is cool. Stayed 2nd week July 2016.

I don't care if it's Japan, I felt it was overpriced. Furthermore, being a family of 3, be warned they will try to charge for 3rd person (our child)! First time in my hotel 30+ years experience this almost happened (this also almost happened again in a smaller Korean hotel) but it lines up as they try to charge for every little thing.

Staff's English was just enough, but seems they are mostly Chinese, and I wondered if Agora was Chinese owned? The first day, we had a friendly Japanese manager explain and after some discussions, waive this 3rd person charge. Because of the nice manager and pleasant stay, we booked another night.

From the misunderstanding of the 3rd person "rule" I wanted to make sure there were no issues again and checked with the counter the next day. This time there was a Chinese girl with broken English who was matter of fact. She did attempt to try to charge the 3rd person but I sternly explained and she accepted, with notice to me that this is Japanese law or some such.

Since I booked online the same type of rooms both times, I'd hoped they could just leave us as is. However, because we booked the 2nd night separately, we had to check out, keep our bags in storage, then check in later. What a hassle. Also it seems the first night, they gave us a complimentary upgrade. But the second night, we had to move to a room that was even smaller!

I hate to give bad reviews, but I need to share. I started this review thinking of a 4 star in the beginning for the friendliness of the Japanese manager the first night. The more I write, the more I think about these annoyances and have decided to...
