We don’t speak Japanese and somehow messed up the reservation. But they were able to accommodate us anyway. We came here to play with the otters which we did. They are lovely and you get to feed them. The fennek was sleepy (it is a nocturnal animal after all) but very sweet. The meerkats were the highlight though - they just love cuddling! Just waited a couple of minutes for them to get used to me and they came for snuggles. So sweet. They have a number of other animals (degu, guinea pigs, gecko). The shop owner seemed friendly, he communicated with us via google translate and there are also some signs in English telling you what you can and cannot do so that the animals are comfortable.
I recommend going and I would love to come back for...

The otters were very cute but they would not interact with you much. On the other hand the meerkats were very interactive. Beware of having scabs that are uncovered. I had quite a few mosquito bites on my ankle and one began scratching them and then saw a scab and almost tried to bite it. Luckily I did not have to call the caretaker, I just moved my foot and the meerkat stopped. They will sleep on your lap for sure, just make sure not to touch them when they want to take a pee or eating.
You need to book in with them beforehand. We booked on...

I will admit it was fun to go into and see and pet the animals, but the whole time I had this little voice in the back of my head telling me what I had just payed into was wrong. I should’ve listened, but instead I ignored it and kept going. The conditions are awful for these animals; tiny little pens, being put under constant stress from visitors, and who knows what the behind-the-scenes looks like! My conscious feels guilty from having payed these people. I recommend to anyone who went to donate to an animal charity equal to what you payed to offset the cost.
If you’re thinking about...
