The hotel have some good reviews from a few website and the fact they are part of the ‘Hoshino Resort’.||Well.. I have a totally different view based on my experience. Few ‘standard’ hotel decency were not there, as if the customer is ‘lucky’ to be able to stay in this hotel and not vice versa.||A few that irritates at its best.||- Staff: eagerness to say ‘no sorry’ that sounds like a template. No sorry, no spare umbrella; No sorry, need to scan your own passport ; No sorry, no hard pillow available. Always starts with a NO and ends with SORRY.||- Early Check-in: Booked for 3 rooms and when I request for 1 room early check-in at 2.10PM, given we all tired from traveling, the front desk asked for 2100 Yen for 1 hour early check in. What an inconsiderate staff, given we stayed for more than 5 days! I heard late check out is also require payments!||- Check-in: Staff seems unbothered to do the check in for us, you need to scan passport and search for reservation number by your own + u do your own room key, yet finally they put it into envelope and passed as if they were the one that does it.||- Room: Small, minimalistic room. We paid for a room that essentially look as if you can see outside, yet they blurred it out. To be fair, they listed it cheaper. But why blurred it until we can’t see anything..? Room decor is nice, functional albeit very limited space. No bathtub in the ‘I only saw the light but not the view’ room.||- Facilities 1: Free Water Bottle..? Forget about it. No complimentary given. Cook your own water from the bath area tap water.||- Facilities 2: Pillow choice is not available, pillow is too soft. I can understand a basic 3 star wont have, but as a Hoshino stamped hotel.? Please hear your customers more.||- Location: 500m approx. from Asakusa Station. Not so sure this can be called near. No cover throughout, a bit harder when it rains. Asakusa is VERY FAR from Shibuya / Ginza / Shinjuku. It’s one end of another end for Shibuya (Ginza Line) - 18 stops in between.||- Dining Area available at 13 Floor. Not so huge but have direct Asakusa view and Skytree visible from the other side. Perhaps this is the ‘selling point’ of what it has. All meals in the dining area need to be purchased by your own. No free lunch in this hotel, even for a cup of basic coffee.||Overall: Disappointed with the hotel, seems they are selling ‘culture’ as their main theme, yet I don't think this hotel represents Japanese culture from the way they treat their customer. Will avoid OMO3 in future.||Also, I wonder how the management able to improve their service if none of the feedbacks gets...
Read moreI had wanted this hotel so badly that I had planned my Japan trip around the availability of this hotel!||Having arrived from another Hoshino property, I was immediately able to compare them. Do your research to find out which exit of Asakusa Metro station has a lift, and you can easily reach OMO3 in 10 minutes on foot. While the street front of the hotel looked skinny (and no drive-in drop off point), it was pretty spacious inside. Although there were 2 tablets for self check-in, the friendly staff were on hand to process the check-in. Across from the front desk were the amenities (including pj) that you find common in many Japanese hotels. The self service locker area was just behind, and so were the laundry room (credit card only). ||We had the Deluxe Quadruple Room with a great view of Sensoji (that's what tourists come to Asakusa for, right? It's just across the street to the side entrance of the temple) On a cloudless day, you could even see Mt Fuji from the room. The view was totally worth it. The room had a hybrid tatami setup which gave a feel of Japanese traditional home. Glad that all 4 beds had bed-linen, as our previous hotel was stingy and charge for pillows/blankets/bed sheet beyond the 2 occupants. Power sockets all aplenty. The only thing is the curtain did not manage to block out the outside light effectively. If it bothers you, the 6am bell from the temple could be heard from the room. There was also no water filling station along the corridor, so you had to tap your card to go to 13th floor to fill your water. There was a kettle in the room though. ||The food and drink station on 13th floor was very well equipped. They were thoughtful enough to sell iconic snacks / food from the Asakusa area. And I've checked that they did not mark up the price. The roof top terrace gave a terrific view of the Skytree to the East and Sensoji to the West, and of course Mt Fuji on a good day. ||OMO3 Asakusa really gave me a good...
Read moreI booked the hotel at omo3 asakusa Tokyo from July 06-10. Arrived hotel on July 06 around 5pm to check in. The hotel receptionist guided me to check in my room with 4 of my families passports and asked me to pay by my credit card. Then, told me that I cannot stay the same room for 2 adults and 2 children (age 12 and 14). I told the hotel receptionist and showed the itinerary to the receptionist that my booking clearly indicated 2 adults and 2 children age 12 and 14), the hotel receptionist kept insisting me that I needed to book 2nd room because my children are considered adults. I told them that they should tell me before guided me to check in and charged me. Anyhow, I told the receptionist to add one more room for my booking, she told me there were no more room available. Then, I told the hotel receptionist to cancel my booking and refund me my booking since you don’t allow my family of 4 to stay in one room and don’t have additional room for us, the hotel receptionist said NO. I asked to talk to her manager in person. She went in to ask her manager, but her manager refused to come out to explain to us and find us a solution. I told the hotel receptionist why you guided me to check in and guided me to scan my families passport knowing we are 4 people in this booking and asked me to pay, then told me that we are not allowed to stay at the same room for 4 people. She didn’t give any reason just kept telling me no refund and no additional room and we cannot stay at the same room for 4 people. I had no choice, but leave without refund and booked the last minute hotel at...
