Amma Restaurant — Restaurant in Johor

First of all I don’t get it why people are giving good ratings for this useless restaurant. If there is 0 rating I will choose that unfortunately they don’t have. I’m from KL and for more than 10 years I’m traveling to JB & S’pore for business trips and always go to this so called high class restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner because near to Hotel. The food is just ok for me but the Staffs are very rude same as their Boss who have always arrogant face, never ever smile or even thank you for patronizing to his restaurant.

Yesterday went there for lunch with family and walked out within minutes when the waiter taking orders. I just ask him why there is no changes in their menu for many years guess what his reply? Told me off to find other restaurants if I don’t like their menu, I feel like slapping him but just ignore and walked out from there. The worse part is, the waiter from India and came here for survival but his behavior like the arrogant owner.

I will never walk in again here and surely will not...

Want to spoil your evening or want to get upset while you plan for a dine out...well you are in the right place. I was wondering why the picture in the restaurant, presumably of Amma is of a foul mood with constipated look towards the guests. I was wrong, but right in a sense as she is perenially upset with her idotic bunch of jokers serving the clients who comes for her name and goes back dis satisfied with a kind of service which you would never expect in any dinning experience. While we entered, the place had only two tables with dinners. Thosai or dosa for my daughter comes first in no time along with my spicy chicken curry. My wife was lucky to be served 10 minutes after. I was left licking my fingers for at least 20 minutes thereafter for my paratha. Alas my 2nd paratha could never meet me to fill up my hunger. Had idly with Sambar chutneys. Idly very hard and sour. Not worth. Never had such a worst Sambar. It is a ready made yellow water some masala with no daal at all. Shocked to find this worst so called Sambar in this well known restaurant. Both coconut and tomato chutney are good. The only good thing.

Pongal. pongal with same so callled Sambar and chutney. Pongal was so bad. made with vegatable oil and there was no ghee or butter. They used some low quality worst tasting dhaal. Afraid what it will do to my stomach.

POORI Poori with potato was good.

Vada was good.

Bru Coffee was more expensive than the poor. Taste was OK.

Cooking a basic south indian Sambar is the least thing that we expect. If you cannot even cook Sambar please do not call yourself south indian restaurant.
