This Berjaya Times Square mall is located on Jalan Imbi, one of Bukit Bintang's principal thoroughfares. Berjaya Times Square Mall is believed to be one of the world's largest shopping malls. Berjaya Group, which also owns Berjaya Hotels & Resorts, Sports Toto, and a number of other businesses, owns and operates the mall.

The mall isn't as impressive as it was in the early days of Kuala Lumpur's development. Inside, there are several good Malaysian cuisine franchises and stylish stores that are the main contributors to the crowd. However, there are several unoccupied store units above the first to third levels. This could also be attributed to the high renting cost.

There is a food court on the lower level where you can discover traditional local cuisine as well as Asian cuisine such as Japanese and Korean cuisine. Prices are affordable; it all depends on your financial situation. You can discover mid-priced retailers ranging from toys to clothing to anime technology to shoes to designer fashion stores and more. To be honest, most of the shops aren't really appealing, but there are a few worth visiting, and I'm confident that Berjaya Times Square is way better than dying Sungei Wang Plaza.

The only things of this mall that I despise are the security features and the mall's ambience during the evening hours. Let's start with safety. There have been numerous reports of customers being robbed or having their wallets stolen, and some CCTV cameras are malfunctioning. This is terrifying. Second, many escorts will roam around the mall in the evening looking for male customers to sell immoral services to. Many people who were born or lived in KL for a long time are aware of this. Because the BERJAYA HOTEL is connected to the mall, you will notice these escorts in eye-catching attire simply roaming around on the ground level or first floor. I really hope management can do anything about it because it's tarnishing the mall's reputation.

For entertainment, the mall boasts a GSC Cinema and Malaysia's largest indoor theme park, Berjaya Times Square Theme Park, which is 133,000 square feet in size (Asia's largest indoor park) and features 14 specially-designed rides, including a thrilling roller coaster. For those who enjoy bowling, there is a 48-lane bowling alley located within the mall.

Although it is not my favourite mall in the Klang Valley, there is still some appeal to it, and I am confident that, thanks to competent management (Berjaya Group), it will be redeveloped in the future to provide a better...

Slightly Below-ish Average Mall With One Quirk

So Berjaya Times Square Mall is what I considered to be a pretty old Mall at this point. And if we look into the year it was built, it's completely understandable.

Now the first sentence in my review is honestly kinda gives off the wrong impression, it's not that it's below average, it's just very narrowly below average Mall in my opinion.

Now with that outta the way, what's in this Mall and what are the ambience that this Mall has? Well for a start it's quite massive but not very spacious, which can be quite claustrophobic at times, but most of the time, it's okay. There's 6 floors that are worth your time, the upper levels mostly consist of watch stores. Secondly, the shops in this mall are, well, quite old/low cost. Which is actually quite good if you want to shop for a clothes or something. But I do want to point out that some of these shops are a bit iffy. Some would even try to persuade you to come into their shops which can be uncomfortable to some people but from what I can tell they're not aggressive/forceful for the most part. Of course there's quite a lot of modern shops too so it's a mix of both.

Before I jump into the layout of the Mall, I quickly want to get into the restaurant/foods selection first. In terms of foods, you're not gonna run out of selection, there's virtually everything for everyone. From fast food to the more upscaled restaurants, from street foods to western. Like there's virtually everything and 70% of them located at the lower ground floor. But others are scattered throughout the Mall.

Now the Mall layout, ooh boy is this Mall quite the confusing one. Its very confusing for my tiny brain, to the point where I legitimately got lost in here, not to mention the ever so claustrophobic shops arrangements and you got yourself a maze. But tbh it's not all that bad but definitely the one of the worse one I've been to.

And ofc I can't talk about berjaya times square without mentioning their indoor theme park which deserves a review in its own right so I'm not gonna waste any of your time here but in short, it's pretty decent for a indoor theme park and it is the only massive quirk that this Mall have.

So overall, it's just OK, but slightly below average due to some of the iffy shops and just the general chaotic energy radiated from the mall. But its definitely has some charms in it and I can appreciate it.

That's been it, see ya all...

That's been it, see ya all later :) -Daniel

Bottom line: Berjaya Times Square offers remarkable value for location-conscious travelers and families wanting convenience. However, if you expect modern design, pristine rooms, or luxury-level service, consider newer hotel options nearby.
