Speaking as a Malaccan
It is one of the long standing mall (and not that really dead) but Mahkota still longer than this, and has gone through many tenure throughout many years.
The layout can be confusing for first timer, it splits into 2 big sections, the flat one, the high rise, which both of this section is separated by the tunnel/field. The flat side is more lively, however still a lot of shop turnover, it's really hard for a shop to last so many years, I would say 2-3max before it close down or then replaced with other shops. The highrise side, even worse, above level 1, thanks to the cinema, though at least contributed to the foot traffic in between. Still, 80% above that level is dead and very hard to sustain. It's connected to Hatten Square which was once in it's glory day to become a Melaka ICT stop or Low Yat but those only last for maybe 1 years before replaced with Retail shop. If it's not because of H&M there I doubt it will even last today.
Very low maintenance, for many years I've seen the toilet especially is getting worse by years and not a hint of maintenance, which is a shame as one of the big mall in Melaka in really touristy place. A lot of toilet cubicle out of service, very dirty, musty, very smelly, a spark contrast to the shiny shop lot. It's the same condition as one you would find in isolated petrol station toilet. It gets worse at the higher level. Also don't get me started at the surau, very isolated place, navigating it is like a maze. Very poor condition. I would rather cross the other side of the road to MP for this two facilities mentioned.
Never in my life ever parked inside the mall because I know it's crazy expensive. Better off parked somewhere at the council parking which is 60sen per hour, but you need to walk a bit far. Definitely not friendly for those OKU or need accessibility.
Idk what is management doing honestly, even as local I would avoid this place like a plague and go to AEON which is a little further from the main attraction. The one makes the mall happening only the visitor from other states, we don't go...

Amidst the modernity, a section dedicated to local crafts and traditional souvenirs tugged at our hearts. Handwoven textiles, intricate pottery, and delicate trinkets whispered stories of Melaka's rich heritage. We left with a small wooden figurine—a tangible memory of our visit.
