Fonda Huauzontle — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

We were excited to try this fonda, sadly it was very, very disappointing. A bit more expensive than most around here. None of the items arrived as described in the menu. I ordered Piña Chaya juice and was given an sugary celery-orange-parsley juice. The cafe was very weak and served in a small, extremely chipped cup.

We ordered scrambled eggs+green beans with roasted pumpkin in pasilla salsa, a side of chilaquiles, and refried beans. We received hard-scrambled eggs in a soupy salty-yet-flavorless salsa, with the saltiest chilaquiles I've ever encountered, and soupy whole black beans. No green beans, no pumpkin.

The server vanished for 15 minutes, and we were very hungry, so we ate it and therefore paid. Upon paying the bill, he quickly dropped off 15 pesos short of the change we were owed and...

Unlike the old menu and reviews say, agua fresca is no longer included in the meal. I had a garlic fish: it was well made, as well as spicy salsa. I had a passion fruit water. We can customize the sweetness. It seemed homemade, because there were a lot of seeds in the bottom. I like they didn't give us straws without requesting.

I sat inside, but the ceiling fan was pushing down the hot air coming from the kitchen, I'll sit outside next time.

It's MXN 200 that includes soup, but the passion fruit water was 45. While the quality was high, it was a little steep for me to frequent. No WiFi. Visa was accepted with Clip...

this place was soooo good & exactly what i was craving when i say good, well-made, mexican breakfast. the owner & staff were great, friendly & did everything to make sure you got what you wanted! jugo verde was worth getting seconds, eggs were perfectly cooked, chilaquiles were fresh & simple - sometimes they’re just slit but these were just right. overall great place for a cozy breakfast, would eat here again to try...
