wow.. words can’t begin to describe how terrible my experience was here. one of the main reasons i chose mexico to travel to for my birthday trip was because of this gym. im a powerlifter and coach and this gym was a top priority the traveling and wow what a disappointment this was. i came down here and the employees were the rudest people ive EVER met. the man YELLED at me to “listen to me lady you need to listen to me and shut up” when my sister and i were speaking to each other on the side.. i was unaware of the rules and brought my professional camera to which he grabbed out of my hand to take away, i said id put it back in the car and he said no.. he then said i wouldn’t be allowed to film whatsoever, not even on my phone… to which i responded that i saw people filming inside.. and he continued to yell at me... yell.. i then asked if i could just take a look at the gym to see how busy it was before i went in since all my plans of filming were ruined already, i didn’t want my workout ruined as well. he continued SCREAMING “lady no you step on the stairs and you pay” this is ridiculous. quite literally awful. im from miami beach, muscle beach is completely free and the environment is so much better, friendlier and the kindest people. never coming back. i hardly ever write reviews but to face such an embarrassment (getting yelled at publicly by a VERY rude employee when i was simply there to train????) AND the only reason i traveled to mexico was for this...
Read moreDespite the gimmicky nature of the gym, oversaturated presence on social media, and comical cost of entrance – this place is still definitely worth visiting. It’s a good gym with a full suite of equipment that allows you to target all muscle groups like any typical large-scale commercial gym would.
There is just something primal about utilizing the weights and equipment built entirely from tactile lindy materials such as wood, bamboo, and stone (all native to the Yucatán Peninsula by the way). This – coupled with the natural sand surface and saline ocean breeze – increases lifter proprioceptive awareness and provides for enhanced anabolic effect through elevated brain-derived neurotrophic factor production.
The gym also does a good job of establishing strict ground rules which curtail a lot of the lowbrow behavior from social media ‘influencers’ – you won’t be tripping over tripods so some 19-year-old muppet blasting SARMs can get the perfect Instagram picture. Overall, a great place to kill a few hours when you want a break from the degeneracy that is inherent...
Read moreThe well known must go to jungly gym Tulum. Is it worth $30USD? Yes!
As someone visiting Tulum and into fitness this is a super photo Op place to explore, go in, get ur fun workout in, take some pix and finish off with a dip. Can get very busy in a minute, so it’s up to your luck. But I also visited high season so who knows! No professional cameras allowed, I think you can pay extra for that, but since most phones are pretty good these days you will get your instagram worthy shots for sure.
Friendly staff, open lockers and water is extra for a bottle or u can get ur own bottle and fill up inside.
Will I be back for a workout next time in Tulum? HELL YES!
P.S. The entrance was a bit tricky from the outside, you can access the beach from the road via hotel called Ahau Hotel. If you’re unable to find it ask the neighbouring places and they will direct you. Hotel will make you sign a form to enter to the beach and u need an ID. That’s...
