I just came for a second time, as my first experience was good.

Han is lovely, but has been late both times. This wasn’t an issue for me, as I had free time, but it made the rest of the haircut feel rushed, especially when a second customer walked in. There was also no hair wash or styling, even though I booked this and asked in advance. Be aware of this, as this happened at my last experience too. Maybe the website needs to be updated…

Unfortunately, I asked for face framing and got left with incredibly lopsided, short curtain bangs (!!!), which I had to go elsewhere to get fixed/blended in to my hair. There was no cross checking length or anything, and they are at least an inch different in length. Very upset, as I asked for no shorter than my jaw, and they’re up to my cheekbones… I have curly hair too, which makes them appear even shorter.

The salon might be good if you have coarse hair or if you’re after chemical treatment, but for fine, curly, European hair, I’d go elsewhere. Very disappointing.

Update: the salon did offer to fix my hair, which was appreciated (thank you). Unfortunately, I have lost some trust in the salon, and there is not much you can do for hair that has been cut too short other than...

The owner/ stylist is really cool and helpful with consultations, and also very open minded so you can really get creative if you like. It is the most reasonably priced salon I found after days of research around Auckland CBD. The service is optimum and conversations engaging, so you're sure to have a great experience. It is a quaint little salon built with all heart and that reflects when you visit the place. I got hair color and hair cut and it all turned out really well. I showed Han, the hairstyle that I would like to achieved as I have been to my childhood hairdresser 8 weeks prior my hair had grown out but was easy to curl with my Dyson but a bit overgrown.. Han cut my hair, not only my curls wouldn’t hold. He told me after cutting it short, if i curl it, it would look mature because now it is too short…he has also told me that my hair is too course to hold curls.. for the hairdressers that I have been to over my life, I’ve been told that my hair would hold curls/straighten easily because of its own texture.. I’m sure this is skill issue rather than all the comments...
