We booked two rooms in this cute family run hotel. We wanted both the rooms together but they couldn't help with that. Our rooms were on the terrace floor with sweeping views of the ruins, the valley and the gorgeous night sky. Room 304 had a broken window so it attracted a lot of bugs. It is also a very small room and bathroom but workable for students and single travelers. Room 307 was large and spacious with a nice sized bathroom. More than the rooms, we were very grateful for the friendliness of the family and front desk staff. They were kind and happy to help with transportation and other things. Special thanks to the kind lady who let me hang dry a piece of clothing. ||Do remember that there are a lot of stairs to make it to this hotel. The tuk tuk access is good and we had two tuk tuks reserved to get to the train station for our Machu Pichu adventure. They parked at a spot closer to the hotel so you may want to request that to minimize the walk. Walk into town is just 6-8 minutes and the small restaurants serve decent food. If you are lucky you can even see a dance and local craft fair in the town center. Walk to the Ollyntytambo ruins is also 10 minutes with the last entry at 4.30 pm. ||At the hotel they serve decent breakfast to fuel up for the day. The staff was super helpful with bags and even escorting us to where our taxi car was parked. Even though our actual time at the hotel was very limited, whenever we got back we were welcomed...
Read moreWe began our month-long trip to Peru in Ollantaytambo. We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon after flying into Cusco. From the minute you enter the hotel, you feel the warmth and hospitality of the Senora Molina and her wonderful staff. We were fortunate to reserve the matrimonial suite which is has a private sun room and complete access to rooftop terrace. The room was spotlessly clean and refreshed everyday. We enjoyed a wonderful of the Ollantaytambo Ruins and the old city. The beautiful plaza was less than a walk away down an ancient cobblestone street. The breakfasts were wonderful with delicious coffee and variety of good options from eggs and bacon/sausage to cereals and breads. Also, if you want to do some touring in the Sacred Valley, I would highly recommend thier driver, Elisar. He is wonderful and very kind. If you are staying in the Sacred Valley and pass up this gem, you will have missed an opportunity to experience Peruvian culture and...
Read moreWe only stayed here for a night but we loved it. The location is excellent! It's in the old part of the city and about a 5 minute walk to the city centre. The rooms and common spaces were super cute and very clean. The sheets are not necessarily 5-star hotel quality but for a small provincial hotel, they were adequate. After 23-hours of traveling, we appreciated the shower with hot water.
We kind of wish that we just stayed in this hotel for another night because we had a horrendous experience in our Aguas Calientes hotel the next day. I think we would have been better off taking the late train back to Ollantaytambo after our Machu Picchu trek and stayed at Intitambo for another night.
If you're looking for a good hotel with friendly staff and nice surroundings, this hotel is for you. If they're available, you can request for a room on the 3rd floor of the main building. You will wake up to an amazing view of the Temple of...
