At first glance from Burnham Park looks majestic After walking in a roundabout fashion half getting lost trying to find the mall that is supposed to be right in front of Burnham Park. Rather go by taxi unless you fit enough to brave the hilly stretch. The mall is a lot smaller than what it appears from outside. Supermarket at entrance is great with variety and prices.Veggies and fish are very well priced and fresh as can be! Watsons Pharmacy does BP checking walkin but doesn't do blood sugar testing although its advertised to be concerned about all day long on the pharmacy broadcast station at the mall instore. Lookout deck appears under construction and one cant really get a good view of the city due to the trees. I think that Baguio deserves a better SM mall meaning more variety of stores, it's like a huge watsons pharmacy ,sm department store and supermarket and everything in between is just to fill the gaps. Didnt like the watch store, not the gym entrance wasnt sure if it's also under construction so I didnt bother entering. The childrens playzone is really below standard compared to Mega Mall its actually not even that entertaining and especially for the price of 200 peso for 1 hour,I mean buy some extra entertaining goods like especially little rooms for male believe make up and kitchen not just a tiny icecream cart. Check out mega malls playzones for children! The cyber zone looks like 1 shop and no distinguishing between smaller stores and nothing attracting me inside.Face value the no name brand cellular and laptop stores look like overpriced gimmick cafes,I rather order from shoppee as the items look exactly the same. 2500 peso for a mini usb to hdmi cable that 99 peso on shoppee no name brands. Not saying match shoppee just saying cater for all working classes not only high end Ace Hardware awesome selection of equipment and price range, power tools unfortunately double the price of South Africa and no idea why Domestic drilling machine low wattage for equivalent of 100usd and in south africa 40 usd for a bosch 400watt impact drill !!?? Toilets are really below standard taps are all broken in mens ,have a feeling of no hygiene standards met especially compared to other sm malls! Toilets should have been designed to cater for the masses but honestly look like staff toilets
The highlight of this mall is the exit and taxi queuing the gentleman that assists each and every person queuing helps unpack their trellises and packs the taxi is really amazing done with efficiency and not even expecting a tip, he should be in a...

Read moreThis is regarding the SM Supermarket. This is hands down the nicest place to shop for groceries in Baguio, it's clean, brightly lit and has a lot of products both from the Philippines and imported. We were in the market at about 3 PM on Monday 28 April. The comment we have regards checking out, today the lines were over 50 meters in length at each station (see picture) which jammed up shopper circulation throughout the store. We waited over 30 minutes and the lines simply did not move. It is unfortunate that it is typically a bad experience at the SM Supermarket trying to pay for your purchases here but today we could not wait any longer and had to leave. One of the main issues is that there are not enough cashiers on duty at a given time - a line can feed 4 or 6 cashier stations but typically only has one or two cashiers who are working. There seems to be (literally, no exaggeration) hundreds of people working in the supermarket, many of whom are working stocking shelves or whatever task they have been assigned and many who are simply standing around. It would seem reasonable to convert some of these positions to cashiers to help facilitate checkout times. Also, a checkout line can be stopped by a cashier if they don't have the correct, exact change (say short 5 sentimos, it has literally happened to us and we had to wait an additional 10 minutes) - we suggest giving the cashiers some leeway on accounting so that they may be a few pesos or sentimos off when they go off duty- they can speed things up if they don't have to account for every sentimo. One other suggestion is to have "Express" lines for a specific number of items, many shoppers have 15 or less items and are stuck in "Blue Basket"lines behind people with 2 or more "Blue Baskets" that are full with hundreds of items, Cashiers should be empowered to say NO to customers who try to break the maximum number of items rule. Last, SM should know when their peak times are and should plan on having an adequate number of cashiers on duty when these peaks occur.
We guess that if more Filipinos vote with their feet and leave these long lines that SM will get the idea and try to make some improvements. People DO have better things to do than wait in...
