Really great concept hip eatery in Cais do Sodre. I discovered the place through a popular British travel show called TravelMan. Food is served in tapas style. You can get some bread and toasts and order tinned fish of choice. They have some simple salads and mains on offer but the concept is essentially the tinned fish with bread.

The ambiance is really cool with every object assuming a slight marine/ fishing theme. The menu has fishing rods attached to it, you’re sat on tiny chairs, and the decor reminds you of being on a ship deck.

Food was as good as it can get with tinned fish. We were fully aware that this is the concept but perhaps could have done a bit better with a bit of guidance in choosing what to order. Food wasn’t cheap for what it is, but it’s very conveniently located and being seated for lunch on a rainy Friday was not an issue.

We ordered some tinned tuna with peppers and tomatoes, some traditional Portuguese tinned eel, a bread basket, and some salad. Recommended for the charm and concept but not necessarily...

Must visit gem in Lisbon!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Sol Pesca Lisbon for the second time during my trip to Lisbon, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

The service throughout the evening was impeccable. The food at Sol Pesca Lisbon is simply outstanding. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly unique and adds to the overall charm of the place.

The combination of exceptional service, fantastic food, and unique atmosphere makes it a must-visit place in Lisbon. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this restaurant is a gem that should not be missed. This is a completely unique experience and the ONLY place in Lisbon where you can order plated seafood from a tin. Don’t go here looking for the fresh catch, that’s not what this place is about… but take a minute to open your mind to these delicious treats! We recommend the Octopus in Green sauce, the Spicy Mackerel, and the Muxama! We also had the Dish of the Day, a codfish salad, that was served with bread and a beverage. Delicious! We had the green wine. Theirs is a sparkling white version that was a bit sweet and very light and refreshing. Although the location on Pink Street is quite touristy, this place felt like a local vibe, perhaps because we were here...

Found this gem while following our hearts and stomachs down the famous Pink Street. As someone not super familiar with Portugese conservas (canned fish), I was not sure what to expect, but the ambiance was inviting and the charm and attention to detail in this nautical little refuge had me intrigued. We tried the tuna to the sailor (delicious black spaghetti and tuna dish), the cod and corn bread, and a goat cheese, mint, and fig appetizer along with a cocktail and beer. What a treat! A perfect late afternoon meal offering what others have called "elevated" canned fish. Even if you are hesitant by the concept, you will not be disappointed. We loved it.
