Google Maps might mislead you and make it seem hard to find. It’s right near the bus station, about two minutes to the right.

For those wondering if you’re allowed to go in, yes, you are, even if it’s not immediately obvious. I had the chance to walk through this historic train mountain tunnel completely alone. Safe, quiet, and about a 10-minute walk end to end. Inside, there’s some wall art, and midway through a side passage opens to a nice view of San Marino. The remains of the old electric railway that went from Rimini up to San Marino. A few years back they restored this small section of the line and (it's seems from posters) they periodically run the train! You can walk the whole length of the tunnel, you just have to walk past the train at the tunnel entrance. About half way theres a side tunnel that takes you a great view of San Marino below. Breve viaggio turistico organizzato dall'Associazione Treno Bianco Azzurro. Di solito a pagamento, ma in concomitanza di alcune festività è gratuito (io sono andato il 29 settembre, che era la Giornata Europea del Patrimonio per il 2024). Il viaggio si sviluppa per circa 800m della linea elettrificata restaurata, nel bosco e all'interno della galleria Montale, la prima delle 17 gallerie in direzione Rimini. Sali a bordo dell'elettromotrice AB 03, l'unica delle 4 motrici restaurata in ogni particolare, oltre che con il motore originale perfettamente riattato, dove la guida ti racconterà la storia del treno e il restauro effettuato nel 2012. La tratta funzionò dal 1932 al 1944 ed è, seppur seconda come più corta del mondo, dopo la ferrovia Vaticano-Roma, appartiene invece alla repubblica più antica.
