Galeries Maldà is one of those places that surprises you in the best possible way. At first, it looks like a collection of small, themed shops, but take your time, and you'll discover it's much more: a labyrinth of unexpected treasures and authentic character.
This gallery doesn’t follow the polished rules of modern retail spaces. It feels personal, slightly chaotic in a charming way, and full of soul.
From fantasy-themed stores to artisan sweets, every shop has its own atmosphere.
But what truly made my visit unforgettable was finding my all-time favorite Arabic perfume: rich, intense, and evocative, just as I remembered it.
The perfumery itself was a standout. The selection of Middle Eastern fragrances was impressive, and the person behind the counter knew each scent inside out. They let me explore slowly, test freely, and genuinely seemed to care about matching the right perfume to the right person. That kind of attention is rare.
Galeries Maldà invites you to slow down, to browse without pressure, and to rediscover the joy of wandering without a plan. It’s a mix of nostalgia, fantasy, and discovery.

Read moreTHE best place in Barcelona for all your nerdy needs! (At least among the places we've visited) It's located in an inconspicuous place - we've passed by the area sooo many times before since it's the same street that has some nice sneaker shops. The entrance to the area just seemed like a small "tunnel?" into small shops where I've always just imagined to be selling cheap items.
For some reason, after passing by that area for the hundredth time, I said, "Let's just see what's in there." Then I saw some a huge wall of funkopops, I said, "That's okay, nice." Then, we went further and saw some cosplay stuff, then some anime stuff from DBZ, Naruto, One Piece, etc. There's even a little Naruto Ramen area (designed like the Ramen place that Naruto always eats at, great for a photo-op). Then, there were the Harry Potter stuff with lots of nice trinkets even...
Read moreWe randomly stumbled into this place on a trip to Barcelona, and the consensus among our friend group is that it was the absolute highlight of the trip.
It's by no means the kind of place one would expect to find in Barcelona - a massive collection of bizarre, wondrous, quirky little hobby/geek stores of all kinds - so it was a tremendously happy surprise. A Willy Wonka candy shop, Harry Potter, LotR, and Disney theme stores, steampunk clothing and a cosplay boutique, board games, multiple anime stores... the list goes on and on. Even the friends who aren't particularly into geek culture loved it and found plenty to buy or to peruse in awe.
It's so easy to get lost in this place for hours. Just when you think you've seen it all, you turn a corner and another fantastic, one-of-a-kind store shows up. Simply a...
