Galería Maxó Petritxol 18 — Attraction in Barcelona

OMG! Stumbled upon this little gem by accident while doing a free walking tour of Barcelona with my friend, the window and exterior of the gallery quickly caught our eye and we decided to return on our own to parouze what we thought was an old book store. To our surprise it was an art gallery that we absolutely fell in love with! The art pieces are so unique and absolutely amazing and impressive. I have never fallen in love with so many pieces before and have never really been one for buying art while traveling but I just had to own these photos. I am huge of street art and felt like I was bringing a part of Barcelona and its artists home with me. The two girls in the shop were great and really helped make sure I got the pieces I wanted and made sure they were wrapped properly for my journey back home. Upon my arrival home I realized I wanted more then the 4 photos I got and decided to ask how I could purchase more, the gallery responded quickly and promptly and informed me of their Instagram page. Wow! Maxó is the real deal. Compassionate, creative and so very talented. I really enjoyed our chat while I picked out my favorite pieces...eventually shipped to my home in Los Angeles.

Walking with a group me and my partner in crime both spotted this place at the same time and immediately walked in without either of us skipping a beat or saying a word.

The paintings! I now own 7. Bought some as gifts because the prices are reasonable, not typical in the art world. If you're considering stopping in at any of his galleries, just do it. Gorgeous work, friendly environment and art that is affordable. It's not cheap but this is one of a kind, stunning, inspiring art you can take home without breaking the bank.

There are a number of branches of Galeria Maxo, most within walking distance of each other in the centre of the city.

Having previously bought some artwork at another branch, I returned to ask if it would be possible to buy frames and have them shipped to me in London. Whilst they were able to ship them to me, both frames arrived damaged and the glass in shards. However, the team at Galeria Maxo had no issues in sending replacements and went the extra mile to ensure the 2nd shipment was more robustly packaged and arrived in perfect condition.
