Absolutely horrendous. Worst food I’ve had in Barcelona. I truly don’t understand why people would give this place good reviews. The only reason we didn’t run away at the doorstep was because our friends were already there. The moment you step in you see food displayed, infested with bugs. I kid you not there were bugs crawling on the toppings of the bread. The food displayed looked at least three days old. We ordered a grill plate supposedly for 4 people and it was barely enough for 2. Only one piece of meat from each kind and it was dripping in oil. We repeatedly mentioned that we are allergic to peppers. They proceeded to put peppers on every single item. We got a random plate of chicken wings we didn’t order but they claimed it was part of our grill plate. The extremely unpleasant and pushy waiter made us very uncomfortable and then proceeded to rip us off by €10 when he told us he forgot to mention the chicken wings were actually not included in the grill plate. After all this, the waiter got offended that we didn’t offer a tip even though neither the food nor the service reached even a bare minimum standard....
Read morePlace looks awesome with the wooden long bar, and the servers seemed very nice (at first). Prices for pintxos are affordable (starting on 1.95 euro and up to 3.50 euro). They also have tapas and other dishes that are pricier, but probably good for bigger groups.
Pintxos tasted well; from the cold pintxos that are self-serve we got: spanish omelette, serrano ham, shrimp. From the hot ones we ordered secreto iberico (super tasty! Recommend it), huevos rotos with serrano ham (amazing texture of the eggs) and calamarcito (grilled squid). The squid was horrible, totally impossible to chew. We left it uneaten and let the server know, but she said it's how grilled calamari usually is... well I've eaten calamari that was chewable. No refund or apology offered, so we didnt tip. If we hadnt ordered the squid and encountered that attitude, we would probably have rated 5 stars...
Read moreEl Pintxo de Petritxol shines as a beacon of Barcelona's rich tapas culture. The cozy ambiance of this spot is matched only by the quality of its offerings. Starting with the sangria, it was a refreshing delight, each sip infused with the essence of ripe, sun-kissed fruits—a perfect preamble to the culinary show that followed.
The tapas were the highlight, a dazzling array that showcased the diversity of Spanish cuisine. Each dish, whether it was the velvety cheeses, the zesty seafood, or the robust meats, was bursting with authentic flavors. The presentation was impeccable, marrying the visual appeal with the taste and creating a truly sensory dining experience.
