We chose the hotel based on many positive evaluations in different sources and found out how, sometimes, these evaluations are no more than fake-opinions. To the facts from a real experience:
We booked a room for two persons. The location of the hotel was fine, a few minutes from many interesting sites.
Reception: No reception lobby, just a narrow corridor and a space to stay on foot and talk to the receptionist.
We were taken to a room so minuscule that there only a narrow 15 cm-space to go the toilets. We insisted on moving to another room with a few more space between the bad and the walls, forming a "corridor".
Bathroom: If the room was tiny, imagine the bathroom... the worst part was that the box was licking water and always left the toilets wet. The towels were old of use and harsh on the skin. The bad sheets were a match in matter of roughness.
Breakfast: If you are willing to pay 10 Euro for breakfast, they will serve you instant-made coffee, one option of cheese and one option of ham.
The service was rude, to say the least. For example, one night I arrived late to the hotel, just to find it closed and locked-down. I tried ringing the bell and calling the phone number, to no avail. After sometime (more than 15 minutes), desperate and scared like hell, having no where to go in the dark, the front door opens and someone saying they just went away for a minute or so... the next day I went to complain at the front desk and someone who sounded like the owner attacked me (!) yelling and saying that I have nothing to complain about, as no one opened the door because the reception was asleep and could not hear the sound!
Those were the worst-ever spent 60...
Read moreHorrible experience. Due to construction noise across the street we requested both hotel and booking to find us another room. Everything was fully booked but hotel put a letter in our room that we had to leave ASAP (?). I went to talk to the receptionist who was super sarcastic and unfriendly, I said we didn't want to leave we just want a solution. We made an agreement but next day the hotel owner called me in the room as soon as I entered the hotel. He told me to come downstairs and to get aside in a seperate room. He started yelling at me, shaking of anger that we made him trouble because we asked booking to help. He told us to leave immediately while all red with veins pounding in his neck. He said we didn't cancel our request to change hotel with booking (which we did, I even showed them on my phone). I work with psychiatric patients and yet never have I been spoken to in such a rude and terrifying way. I felt nervous and scared. Instead of trying to find a solution he just blamed us for complaining and threatened to put us on the street. Not one apologize after I showed him we canceled our request...
Read moreWe stayed three nights at Patagonia Sur in Cadiz, the location couldnt be better, The Staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered was adequate for the price,||It is also very clean. We have stayed in Many Hotels and Hostals in Spain, I would consider this a Hostal not a Hotel. There is no lounge area, The Cafeteria/Bar only serves breakfast, and the Bar is attended by the reception desk, Our room was very small with only one hard backed chair at the desk, so we had to sit on the Bed. There was no Tea/Coffee maker and the Mini-Bar was not stocked, the reception told us it was because of Covid restrictions. Its location in the Old Town means that only public car parking is available, however there is large undergound parking within 5 to 10...
