Museo de la Alhambra — Attraction in Granada

Fascinating collection of artifacts and a perfect compliment to conclude a visit to the palaces and the gardens. Two stars only because we were told we couldn’t take pictures inside. How come? What a disappointment! Some of the objects were quite mesmerizing to look at. Shall we commit the images to memory? And it was not about the use of flash. We didn’t want to use flash. The instructions were “no photos”. That’s the kind of thing you do for theater performances for example...

Museum is 5 stars. Organization and staff not so much.

And a member of the staff showed us the wrong entrance to the palace and we nearly missed our reserved time waiting in line for another...

Visité este museo el día 11 de agosto y fue una de las experiencias más gratas de todo el complejo de la Alhambra. Es de entrada gratuita y contiene obras de arte y otros objetos provenientes de Granada y de otras partes del mundo musulmán. Al entrar nos recibió Julián, un guía voluntario que se ofreció muy amablemente a guiarnos por el museo, a explicarnos casi todas sus piezas y a resolver todas nuestras dudas. Compartió con nosotros sus amplísimos conocimientos de historia y arte de manera sencilla para que entendiésemos todo, y además estos mismos conocimientos nos sirvieron mucho a la hora de visitar los palacios nazaríes. No pudo ser más simpático, y nos contagió su entusiasmo desde la primera a la última sala del museo. ¡Una visita 100%...
