Was so excited to visit the Miró foundation and studios, really enjoyed most of my visit but am here mostly to write about my experience in the printmaking studios as I was accosted by an employee. You pay the entrance fee for the two buildings and gallery space, I went up to the print making studios and there was a glass door, no signs on it, not locked and slid open so I walked in. I could see inside someone’s things were setup like they were working so I thought nothing of it and knew it was apart of the buildings you were able to view inside. Was quietly minding my business taking in the space when the employee returned and began screaming at me. I was berated by her and she was telling me in Spanish “what do you not understand” and being extremely demeaning, I explained I thought it was open and it was part of the entrance fee I had paid. She huffily took my ticket, marked it down, sat down at the desk and was mumbling things to herself as I made a lap inside the building. I was so uncomfortable as I made the journey alone that it really ruined my whole experience. Bummed as I enjoyed the rest of my time there but wanted to note this here as it was...
Read moreThe Joan Miró Foundation was an absolute dream come true. From the moment I arrived, the experience was nothing but magical. The staff was incredibly kind: when I realized I didn’t have cash for the locker deposit, she graciously offered to keep my bags for me, allowing me to enjoy my visit stress-free.
The collection was beyond impressive. Seeing Miró's work up close, with its vibrant colors, playful shapes, and abstract beauty, felt incredible. Each piece seemed to carry a life of its own, capturing the essence of his creative genius, and so the house. The architecture of the building itself was a work of art—its open, airy design perfectly complemented Miró’s masterpieces, creating an immersive environment. Visiting Joan Miró Foundation was a deeply personal and unforgettable experience.
Thank you for this...
Read moreBeautiful place, disappointing staff. The foundation itself is stunning — incredible architecture and a truly inspiring space to see Miró’s work.
Unfortunately, the staff really ruined the experience for me. Today, one of the guards (male) started yelling at me as I entered with a stroller and my 4-month-old baby, accusing me of not showing a ticket — even though I was just trying to safely park the stroller and take the ticket out.
Later, another guard in the studio forced me to take my baby out of the stroller while she was crying, which felt completely unnecessary and disrespectful. He seemed more interested in scrolling on TikTok than actually helping visitors.
A place this special deserves better, more...
