You are robbing yourself of quite the food experience if you don't come here to enjoy amazing seafood... Especially since it won't even break the bank! Make a reservation if you can, but no worries if you don't. The place is casual. Get there at opening time because you'll have slim pickings if you're late. The way this place works is you enter the door and right in front of you is a display case of fresh seafood. You pick what you want. Next, you go to the bar, order your beverages, and go find a table to sit. Everything will come to your table.
Let me give you an example of what the cost is: we were 4 people. We ordered two handfuls of sardines (they fry them and they are out of this world tender and not pungent or overly fishy!), two handfuls of mussels and chose to have them cooked in tomato sauce, two green salads, 8 HUGE shrimp, a whole seabass, and whole halibut. We ordered 4 bottles of water, 3 beers, and then afterwards had 4 different desserts (carrot cake, banana cream pie, brownie with ice cream, and dark beer cake). All of that cost âŹ110. It's a A STEAL!! And we ate really well, too! There's no menu at this place. You just order what's available, and everything is amazing! This is my second time bringing guests to this restaurant. They cook everything to perfection and I'm looking forward to coming again every time...
Read moreToday, my husband and I visited this restaurant. A very nice man greeted us and explained everything on the menu. We were interested in their tasting plate. He showed us exactly what was included in it, and we placed an order. We were the first guests, and our table number was 1. There were a few people in the restaurant. A nice girl served us and often asked if we liked everything. The dishes were brought out gradually, and the food was delicious. After some time, the restaurant filled with visitors, and our waitress was replaced by another girl. She brought us ice cream and said that this was the last item on our menu. However, I clearly remembered that the man, when explaining the menu, told us there were nine different dishes. They brought us only seven of them, so we showed the girl what exactly we did not receive as ordered. She told us that we had already eaten it. It was very unpleasant to hear this. Subsequently, she clarified and still brought us our dish, but we never heard an apology. Moreover, she seemed offended and never came to our table again. I clarified how much we owed on the bill, paid, and we left. The evening was ruined. The food was delicious, but the service left much...
Read moreVery busy location. Strongly recommend a reservation- we did this and entered directly. There is a fresh seafood section in the entrance where you can ask questions and decide together with a staff member what you would like and how it will be prepared.
We asked to dine outside and were told it was overbooked, however, we sat by the window inside and observed MANY empty tables- are these reserved for locals? No reservation signs. Server did a diligent job telling all the people coming in after us that the outside seating was booked out- although empty tables were observable.
Our selection was a grilled dorade and juicy prawns as well as a salad. Dorade was perfect, moist and flavourful- best dish of the night. Fresh fish was apparent. Prawns were delicious, but the prawn intestinal vein was not removed and was gritty and off putting- all prawns were not cleaned properly- damn shame to see this corner cut. Salad was unremarkable- no flavourful dressing, bitter greens not evenly balanced and corn - I didnât get it and recommend avoiding.
Overall the freshness and hype won, but no passion to make it what it should or...
