We stayed here for a week in late September. The location of this hotel is fantastic, right on the beachfront with the rooms, pool and dining area overlooking the sea, which is lovely. It's also conveniently located for the bus into Palma and within 5 minutes walking distance of dozens of restaurants.||The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is nice, the outside dining and breakfast areas are very pretty and nice places to enjoy a meal, a large tree acts as a canopy providing shade and is quite attractive in its own right. That said if you're staying on the first floor there's a good chance that your view of the sea would be obscured, it's a bit better on the second floor, we were on the third floor and didn't have that issue.||The room itself was fine, it was a good size, comfortable, the aircon worked well which we always appreciate, we didn't have any major issues. One thing of note was that there was no main light in the room and the bedside lamps were very dim, there was also no main mirror in the room outside of the bathroom, as a result my wife had a bit of difficulty getting ready to go out on an evening, not a big problem, but a bit odd as a design choice. A bit of a renovation would help, some bits are pealing, scuffed or looking a bit tired, but functionally fine. The balcony was nice, the views we had were fantastic. The breakfasts were pretty constant in offering over the week, it was all reasonable. We can't comment on the evening meals but it was a big price jump going to half-board, with the high number of great restaurants on our doorstep we have no regrets going bed-n-breakfast only.||It was quiet when we were there, perhaps less than half full, which worked well for us as we never had an issue getting a decent sun-lounger or table for breakfast, we never had any issues with noise or being disturbed. We enjoyed our week and would be happy...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel for 7 nights on a Dinner, Bed and breakfast. In the end we ate in the hotel on three occasions...and to be honest, experiences best forgotten. With the exception of breakfast, there is no room on this review to detail how awful the catering experience was . Dinner,B&B clients are very much second class citizens at this hotel from the quality of the food to the stark soulless, empty breakfast room where even the almost no-choice menu was run off on a standard A4 paper without a cover and handled by the few victims of the DB&B client service. This hotel is advertised as "Boutique", and this was the main reason we chose to reserve our holiday. Yes, the hotel is small and designer, but the small beach is bordered and surrounded by other mass-market giants of which two others (adjacent) belong to the Be Live group. We were there in October, in the summer months the beach cannot possibly cope with the numbers lodged at the hotels and apartments around it. The one saving grace from this review being one star are the staff at La Cala. They deserve a 5 stars rating! I sent two comprehensive reviews direct to the company in late October, and never received even an acknowledgement to my comments....
Read moreStayed here as a solo traveller for a week. Despite the hotel seeming a little bit dated and probably in need of a make-over, it was a perfect place to stay. Very well located for both the beach and the main street for shops, bars and restaurants and despite being right on the beach (which was busy) the hotel and the sun terrace had a tranquil and quiet feel which aided a lovely relaxing and quiet holiday. My room was fine and spacious and bed was very comfortable. I had a balcony on the side of the hotel which was fine and also still gave me a good view of the sea/beach. Bathroom/toilet were open plan which was fine for me as a solo traveller but maybe not for a couple or as I sometimes do bring one of my daughters....not much privacy. My room was clean and was cleaned everyday and fresh towels were provided!! The breakfast in the hotel (served from 7.30am to 10.30am) was good and plentiful with good choice to cater for all needs and the outside terrace for eating was wonderful - very peaceful in the morning listening to the sea. Although would advise it can get busy and tables outside quickly fill up. Would definitely consider going back in the future as had a really relaxing and...
