We have been many times over the years. This year was a big disappointment. We booked a table for two, on a Friday night, for 7.30pm. We arrived on time to find the restaurant shut, with no lights on at all! After waiting 5 mins we gave up standing in the heat, and returned 15 mins later to see the doors open at least, but the restaurant only half-lit. We avoided being put in the glassed off area because of the awful vanilla smell they pump through the air con in that section. We want to smell delicious food, not artificial scents. So we sat by the window, with no overhead light, in semi darkness. The waitress apologised and explained she didn't know how to switch them all on. 5 mins later the senior waiter arrived and at last we had a better atmosphere. The starter (grilled vegetables) was as delicious as ever. My normal Gongonzola pasta dish was too runny. The nibbles (dip, bread sticks and olives) they bring to the table to begin with are always delicious. So only three stars this time as it opened late, was dark and gloomy and had that awful vanilla smell...
Overpriced, and the salads do not have the ingredients that are shown on the menu, I ordered a Caprino salad that’s supposed to have beef tenderloin but in the ended it was just ham. We went back to the place to see what happened and they only gave me a fee extra slices of ham but NO beef tenderloin. I don’t know if they maybe were using a bad translation as it usually happens around here or what, but NO beef on the salad. The other salad was La greppia, barely had ricotta. And the staff was super rude. He made fun of me because I said I was a vegetarian and did not want ham or bacon on one of the salads : “ he said but that’s the whole point of the salad” No oil, sauce,...
Read moreMy wife and I came here for our anniversary looking for something to eat on our summer getaway to Mallorca. We got the croquettes as a starter to share and it was phenomenal. Especially the spinach croquette which provided us with a great flavour and start to this experience. For our mains, we got the giant tortellini and the “il segreto dello chef” steak. The tortellini was amazing and the tomato based sauce on top made it a very well rounded and filling dish perfect for a fan of Italian seafood dishes. The steak was FANTASTIC. It was cooked to medium perfection and the chef’s secret sauce made the steak speak a whole nother’ language. Absolutely delicious. The rice and fries accompanying it were perfectly matched and delicious. The service was great. The staff was super kind and let us eat 25 minutes before the kitchen closed!!! Everything was brought out quickly with smiles and warmth. Overall,...
