Hotel Lis Mallorca — Hotel in Palma

These people are scam artists, and this place is absolutely awful. I have stayed in thousands of hotels over my lifetime, and this is one of the five worst ones I have ever stayed at. I'm so incredibly disappointed in the experience and how much time I wasted with them. They kept telling me to call back over several months, because they were supposed to process a credit for me, but they were just lying the whole time. They never responded to my texts or emails. The actual hotel is disgusting and nothing like the pictures. When I checked in and saw that the hot tub was covered in plastic, I asked if it was working. They said yes it was (because they know that the hot tub is one of the hotel's main attractions). When I went to look at it, there wasn't even any water in it, and it was completely covered in mold and dirt. It looked like it hadn't been used in years. The rest of the outdoor area is filthy and hideous -- nobody would want to hang out there, even though it seems very glamorous in the photos. My room was completely dilapidated -- cupboards hanging off the hinges, etc. The sliding glass door did not lock and presented a security issue. I've never been so upset about being so misled and lied to in a travel experience -- especially because they spent the subsequent months leading me on and pretending that they were going to remedy the situation. I'm writing this review only because I felt like the English girl at the reception (whose name unfortunately I forgot to ask) was so incredibly kind with me and my friends, that it deserved to be acknowledged. We stayed only a night because we had to spend one more night in Palma than we initially thought when we booked our holiday, and we found the hotel Lis only by chance. For the price being the hotel is way over what you would initially expect: the rooms could use some more cleaning and the breakfast is not included in the price, but all in all we enjoyed our stay. As I've already stated, what really hit me was how polite and hilarious was the blonde English girl at the reception; she definitely made a difference. She took time off her day to organise for us a whole trip around the island to the places she loved most. Unfortunately we didn't have time enough to visit all the places she suggested but we really had fun visiting one of them which is Valdemossa. When we got back to the hotel, we found that she left us a detailed map on how to get to the airport using the public transportation (which we didn't even ask but it was kind of brought up that morning while we where talking about our trip that day). We loved this hotel! Martin is such a fantastic host & staff are very friendly. Martin really goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome & comfortable.

Hot tubs are on the rooftop and theres another downstairs by the pool.... along with an inflatable unicorn. The rooms & general decor are pretty plain and simple but the staff really made it for us. There's a bar too, €9 for a bottle of prossecco- we sunk a fair few of those in the hot tub.... great for a little predrink in the sun. Its located in quite a quiet town but it has best of both, theres a lovely beach 5mins away & Palma centre is about a 15min bus ride and €1.50 for a single trip. Illetas beach is close too, again just 10-15min journey, buses are frequent & easy. Peurobeach bar is definately worth a visit if you like a little luxury.

Zhero beach club is a 2min walk which is nice on the loungers or by the sea and the med veg there was amazing!

So all in all, great if you want to get out of the busy area but easy access to popular places and pretty beaches and a friendly face with 'anything is possible attitude'.
