S'Hort del Rei — Attraction in Palma

L'Hort del Rei, or "the King's Garden" in Catalan, is a lovely and peaceful oasis in the center of Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Nestled within the walls of the Almudaina Palace and adjacent to the famous La Seu Cathedral, this charming garden has become a popular destination for both locals and visitors.

Originally confined within the palace walls in the fourteenth century, the garden was planted with a variety of fruit trees, vegetables, and vivid flowers. S'Hort del Rei means the The King's Orchard in Catalan and refers to the garden located below the walls of the Almudaina Palace. The current garden design dates back to the 1960s. There are rows of cypress trees, pergolas, trickling fountains ,ponds and sculptures . At one end of S'Hort del Rei an ancient Moorish arch crosses over a pond where swans live. . One nice and a little bit quite oasis in the heart of Palma. Good to relax a few minutes and take a look at the busy people running around. The Hop-on-and -Hop-off bus also stops here. The bus station is a little bit small, but can be found easily at the sidewalk. On the opposite side of the park you find many nice restaurants good for different food or just for a coffee or drink.
