Had a great dinner at King's Cave in Zürich. It’s an underground restaurant styled like a royal living room—cozy, a bit old-school, and really atmospheric. We went as a couple and brought our dog; they reserved a table with space for him near the mock fireplace, which was a nice touch. The service was excellent—our waiter was super friendly and even advised us on which appetizers might clash with our mains. We both had steaks with béarnaise and herb butter, and the meat was spot on. Finished with Toblerone mousse, which was light and not too sweet—perfect ending. Overall, great food, chill vibe, and thoughtful service. We’ll definitely be back.

When we didn’t have reservations elsewhere and didn’t want to walk, we decided to eat here as it was located in our hotel. The restaurant accommodated us very last minute, and even gave us a great table for our honeymoon. The food was surprisingly very good for ordering two steaks. The French fries were very good as well. The service was great, very attentive and continuously checked on us - which we had not received before in Switzerland while eating. The only negative was the cocktail menu was more limited, but plenty of wines to choose from. Overall, great meal and we were very happy we chose it!

I had very bad experience dining here. We were in a group of about ten. I ordered the ribeye with 18yr-old scotch, medium-rare. A gimmicky thing that I should not have ordered. The steak arrived pre-sliced, with a plastic cow on one of the slices that said "medium rare". The server hen poured the scotch on it and lit it up; then tried pulling out the plastic cow, which by this time was molten. She took that slice of the steak out and said she'll replace it.

She came back around the end of the meal to say that she talked to her manager and that she cannot replace the slice. Of course they cannot replace a slice of a steak. Should should have taken the whole thing away and replace it. Anyway, so, yeah, I ordered this $70 steak, she took a slice of it, and cannot replace it. She said they can offer a desert drink for me for free. I accepted.

At desert time she asked me what I want. I chose one of the brandies. She went back, then came back again to say that she talked to her manager and they cannot give me the $15 brandy drink that I asked for; the offer is only valid for their cheapest $9 brandy shot. At this point, my colleague who was the host of the dinner was so furious with the waitress that asked her to bring me the brandy I want and we'd pay for it. That's what we did in the end.

So, yeah. Horrible...

My only star is for the food and the service of Szabrina. EverythiEverything went perfect until the the end I had a bit of a understanding of why they charged me for something a only gave one zip of the cocktail that supposily it was a surprise and it ended being a classic long island. The manager Dragan aleksic, said to the humble and honest waitress that I asked for that cocktail. That was not true I asked for something special to the cocktail man. Those words he applied are not right against a customer.he should not discuss against me and he should make customers feel to come back, thing I won't recommend it repeat. It was embarrassing in my wedding anniversary to have this situation. In my 25years in the business of service I have never saw any boss of mine or my self charge something that a customer doesn't like and change for something else...NOT PLACE TO REPEAT OR TO EXPERIENCE. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AND IN ONE DAY TO REMEMBER FOR ME. He even crumbled my receipt and threw it on the table like a barbarian... Is not money is about heart and passion for customers and this is as I felt been scammed by oone stupid cocktail p.d. from here if you are reading mister manager I hope those 16 chf can make you better man cause as manager you are not worthy of that position, you are...

A very good restaurant. The meat was very tasty. The waiter was very friendly and had a lot of knowledge which he shared with us. Also short time for a chat, which I always appreciate in a restaurant! The restaurant itself is very simple and beautiful. Very cozy low light setting which makes the stay very pleasant. You can still hear the piano player from the upper floor. I love live music in a restaurant! Very nice. The Cave is very nice and not overcrowded. It feels very comfortable in there. The waiting times are also ok and don't take long. The prices, well, they are high, but that's what you'd expect in Switzerland. The only thing I would wish for would be US meat instead of Irish meat. It's not my taste as it's rather sour. But it is my taste, because the preparation...
