Such a marvelous sacred place. The cathedral was built in the Romanesque style and each corner of the cathedral has its history. Both interior and exterior are breathtaking. Stained glass windows in the cathedral describe the teachings of Jesus from the New Testament. Moreover, the celling is adorned with ornate decorations. People come here to engage in worship peacefully. Some even come to take a picture with the beautiful exterior of the cathedral. The place is surrounded by 3 schools and you will find Robinson Bangrak and Mandarin Oriental Hotel nearby. You can go to Assumption Cathedral by Chao Phraya Express Boat or 5 minutes’ walk from BTS Saphan Taksin. You might find difficulties if you go there by car due to the limited area for parking. There might be crowds of students around the cathedral at 3.30 P.M. in weekdays. I strongly recommend Assumption Cathedral if you want to admire the astonishing architecture and calm your mind with the peaceful environment inside the cathedral. It’s worth visiting!

Gorgeous Catholic Cathedral situated by the Chao Phraya River besides the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The place had been under renovation for quite some time. And is now open to welcome visitors during mass services. The good thing about renovation, apart from restoring the glorious past of this historical place, is the newly installed air conditioning system and the new sound system. They have been added to make visitors more comfortable. A group of choir here is one of the best groups in Bangkok. Plenty parking spaces are provided. The Sunday English Mass is always quite crowded. Mass schedules: Mon-Fri: 6.00 a.m. and 5.15 p.m. (Thai) Sat.: 6.00 a.m., 5.00 p.m. (novena followed by mass, all in Thai) Sun: 7.00 a.m., 8.30 a.m., 5.00 p.m. (Thai) Sun: 10.00 a.m. (English) Confessions: Sundays: Before all masses (Thai) and before the 10.00 a.m. English mass.

I loved this Church, the design is wonderful. Last Sunday, i went to the Mass here. Everything is quiet good, until the momment i went to get the Holy Bread. The way the priest ( Old Australien Priest) treated me so rude. He did not allow me to take Holy Bread by mouth, he holded and opened my hand, put the Bread on my left hand and said “ This is the way everyone need to do like this here”. Can you believe, he forced me to do that. I felt so upset and disappointed what he said that to me. It was so rude and unrespect to the people. To take the Holy Bread it doesn’t matter by hand or by mouth. I have the reason to do that. because 1st thing : this is the original way, everyone doing that in my country and 2nd thing : I was traveling at that time, so all the time i have being in public transport to reach the Church for Mass. My hand are not even clean to take it. I thought i have not enough deserved to do that. Right? Today i write down here. I hope he could read my message and i wanna say: “ Father, you on behalf for God. Everyday you teach us love and share the love,... i hope you should do that too, not just only say or teach. Wake up and change your behavior. God bless you” Sorry for my bad skill English. Thanks

The Roman Catholic Assumption Cathedral is a truly sublime building, showcasing remarkable architectural beauty. However, accessibility poses a challenge, as it requires a 15-minute walk from the nearest MRT station. While the cathedral's grandeur is undeniable, the inconvenience of the distance from public transportation may deter some visitors. Despite this drawback, those who make the journey are rewarded with the awe-inspiring presence of the cathedral. For future visitors, it's advisable to plan accordingly and be prepared for the walk from the MRT station. Despite the accessibility challenge, the Roman Catholic Assumption Cathedral remains a must-visit destination for its architectural splendor and historical significance.

It's really very unfortunate because we came on an ordinary day so we couldn't enter the church to pray, but we were able to pray in front of the church and had time to capture the splendor of this church. but finally at 1 Januari 2023, firstday of the year, we finally had a mass and really2 make me cry, because i really really feel the holiness and how God made me to come to His church. Thank you Father, Thank You Jesus, Thank You Holi Spirit 🙏🙏🙏

My first time coming to this church for 10 a.m. English Sunday mass. The church is amazingly so pretty!! It's yellow lighting with mosaic window and old architecture is so perfect. It's 2 storey building but the 2nd floor is not used during mass. It has no ceiling fan but has aircond. The mass is good and the priest is non-Thai, so English is his native language. If you're Catholic and visiting Bangkok, you must visit this church.
